Best Actress Michelle Stafford from Y&R

Best Actor Tony Geary from GH

Best Show the Y & R

Congrats to Tony!!!

Is it bad to say that I am glad GH did not win. In no way did it even deserve a nomination this year.

Love Mo, also Love Tony, so it's a win win for me

Vanessa almost started crying when she was speaking of Anna Lee, that made me cry I'm very glad they still honored her for her work on GH!!

I apologize in advance for the rant.....

Seriously, what in the freaking *^%@ is wrong with those Emmy voters. Eden was so completely robbed. Even Jennifer Finnigan knew she shouldn't have won, you could just see it on her face. She was beyond shocked. I know a few people who were at the awards tonight and they were so disgusted they just got up and left.

And what did Eden do? She applauded and smiled, showing true grace and elegance, even though she damn well knows it should have been hers.

Ok, I feel a tiny bit better now.....

Oh wait a second. Was it just me or was Anna Lee's 'tribute' severely lacking? If Vanessa hadn't been hosting and started tearing up talking about her, it would have been worth squat. Stupid Emmy's and stupid NBC

Well, I'm glad about Chad and Rick winning. They beyond deserve it. And I feel like Chad winning is a nice, "Up yours!" to the writers/producers that let his character go off on such a bad/stupid/annoying/trivial/frustrating note. And Rick has proven he deserved it. I may hate his character but he always blows me away by his performance.

Also, really REALLY glad Tony Geary one. MB took it last year and I was happy for him. But Tony Geary had a better year. He took crap and made it gold. AND he has been one of the only things I enjoyed watching on GH recently.

On a less happy note... Eden Riegel was robbed. Majorly. Stupid Emmy people. AND Tamara Braun was robbed. Grrr arg that pisses me off. Tamara had an amazing year and no matter how much GH frustrates and annoys me Tamara always brings it. And seeing her be so happy for everyone else who won made it even worse.

I am so happy that Chad won and that he thanked Amber...all that time the show wasted his talent

I'm also happy that Cady and Michelle won, both well deserved.

Biggest disappointment, Eden losing. I don't watch AMC all the time, but from what I've seen she has had an amazing year

I didn't watch all of it...but from what I saw it was kind of a boring awards ceremony.

Was anyone else irritated at how badly matched the soap montages were to the music? they tried to put up-to-date music with the scenes but it looked and sounded horrible. I mean, who puts them together?

The stupid effects they did with the scenes - ie having ppl going in ff'd and horrible editing...man it was bad...B&B's music wasn't horrible, but i found it amusing that the whole montage was about Brooke and Ridge...where are the other characters?

Anyway, I was glad that Cady won and semi about Chad, cuz well, he had a crappy last few years at GH - but I suppose it wasn't his fault. All I could think of was that he had better storylines when he first arrived...

I didn't want GH to win anything. I suppose I could give props to the directing as it has nothing to do with the whole writing or direction of the show...so yeah, give that to them...but anything else...NO WAY!

I think that GH was in no way deserving of most of its nominations as a show...

I am not that upset about ER not winning. Really didn't care about that category much. I do know that I didn't care who won...except I didn't want AW to win from GH... Sooooooooooooo not even funny that she got nominated...

Overall the whole evening was kind of boring...I was amazed at how short the tribute was to Anna Lee though... They just really don't care that much anymore...

I think this whole year though, the Daytime Emmy's have lost stature and importance as an awards show because of the horrible state of the entire daytime programming.

The shows are not even in the realm of fantastical anymore as it is ridiculous.

I enjoy soaps, but I miss how they used to hold a little bit of credibility...or at least some of them did.

the least thought of, but one that is coming out of it's slump is GL. i think this soap is getting better under the new regime.

anyways...another 3 hrs wasted out of my life...well actually 2 since i didn't watch it all...

I am so thrilled Chad won!!!! He really deserved it. Rick was wonderful too and I am happy to see him win.

Tony is always good. It was nice another GH person won, but I think Tams got robbed. I think she should have won.

I'm so happy that Tony, Rick, and Chad won. They all deserved it. Oh, and I'm so marrying Rick. I do not care that he is 20 years older than me, married, and has two kids, he rocks my socks!

I absolutely don't understand how Eden and Tamara didn't win. Such a travesty.

I didn't think I liked Vanessa much, but she was pretty good at hosting.

I thought everyone looked amazing. I saw some gorgeous dresses.

was a taut two-hour Daytime Emmy broadcast with five minutes to spare that brought the night's winners to the press room nestled eight flights up. TV Guide Online was there to get the scoop behind the night's biggest surprises: General Hospital's men sweeping the actor categories, The Bold and the Beautiful alum Jennifer Finnigan (ex-Bridget) accepting the Outstanding Younger Actress award for the third year in a row and The Young and the Restless's Michelle Stafford (Phyllis) getting the last laugh as her flawless reel claimed Emmy gold. Here's the highlights of the night:

•Y&R's Victoria Rowell (Drucilla) got things rolling with a little summer preview of Genoa City's newest social platform. "We're launching a foster-care storyline starting next month," said the philanthropic actress. "Eric Braeden (Victor) will be at the helm, and I will be an integral part of that storyline, having spent 18 years of my own life in foster care."

• How did Outstanding Supporting Actor Rick Hearst (Ric, GH) match the emotional outpouring of the Emmy speech he gave 13 years ago touting the birth of his son Nicholas? By dedicating his latest award to his deceased father. "He's largely the reason I have this right now, because he watches over me," the actor shared, choking back tears.

• Despite host Vanessa Marcil's donated speech minutes, Outstanding Supporting Actress Cady McClain (Rosanna, ATWT) had more people to thank when she made it to the press room. "For my sister, Molly McClain, I think I would have tried to help sell her book, Beaufort: The Duke and His Duchess," the actress subtly plugged. The newly minted two-time Emmy winner is already angling for a primetime statue for an outstanding guest appearance. She's about to shoot an episode of Law & Order. "I play a pregnant woman whose second husband rapes her 16-year-old daughter," she revealed.

• Presenter Jack Wagner (Nick, B&B) was hardly ruffled when a phone rang during his podium time. Grabbing his cell from his pocket, he joked, "Spielberg, I'm busy; just hold on, dude." The evergreen teen dream entertained the masses by crooning a tune from his upcoming CD, something he never thought he'd record while doing a soap. "It's pop music, but not the polished pop I used to do," he explained. "It's really cool for me to write songs that have meaning to me, not just commercial songs." Expect Wagner's new album to drop in about two months.

• Although he scored the Outstanding Younger Actor Emmy, Chad Brannon (ex-Zander, GH) reported that his former daytime persona will stay dead. "My toe did move in the body bag, but I'm the only one who noticed," he chuckled. Brannon's new religious outlook has him back in school studying Christian ministries. "The Lord has kind of grabbed hold of my life," he testifies. Heaven knows other soaps would gladly welcome Brannon to their roster, but he's happily exploring other paths. "Right now I just want to see what primetime and film opportunities are out there and play the field a little bit," he confessed.

• As the World Turns' award-winning head writer Hogan Sheffer was a no-show in the press room, bumming out reporters eager to gobble up his quirky quips. But his devoted team members, who won with Lily's swan dive into the Synder pool after her sister Rose's death, assured us he was there in spirit. General Hospital's Outstanding Drama Series Directing team proved silence is golden with a win for its 1920s silent-movie send-up featuring the newest Quartermaine, Dillon.

• The shock hadn't worn off for Finnigan, who walked away with her third consecutive Emmy for Outstanding Younger Actress. "I'm having a major guilt complex," she confesses. "I honestly didn't expect this." Prime-time's newest darling, who will be continuing her role on Crossing Jordan and premiering in the new NBC sitcom Crazy for You in January, doesn't have much time to watch her old soap. "I'm going to program it on my "boyfriend," TiVO, — he always does what I say — so I can catch up," she vowed.

• Stafford closed the book on last year's missing scenes submission snafu as she clutched her Outstanding Lead Actress Emmy. "I hated those scenes that were deleted; it wasn't my best work," she declared, noting that she was as confident with this year's submission as she had been when she won Outstanding Supporting Actress in 1997. When asked how Phyllis can commit such devious acts and still be adored, Stafford surmised, "She's manipulative and conniving, then she twists things around to make the audience feel bad for her... she's just a victim of her demons, like we all are."

• Outstanding Lead Actor Anthony Geary (Luke, GH) reminisced fondly about his late co-star Anna Lee (Lila), who died on May 14. "We used to flirt shamelessly, and I always thought that was going to consummate itself," he chuckled. The four-time Emmy winner also tossed out a crossover suggestion that even Days head writer James Reilly couldn't have dreamed up. "I was hoping that the murderer on Days of Our Lives would turn out to be Luke."

• The Young and the Restless reclaimed the night's top award for Outstanding Drama Series, 11 years after the show's last win in that category. "It was very competitive and close but this is our year, and we're thrilled," said Y&R's co-executive producer/co-head writer Jack Smith and promised to serve up some hot romance this summer with Y&R's most beloved characters. "But now, I'm going to go party."

Who beat Tamara? I think she's one of the best actresses.

Tamara Braun was robbed! She undoubtly should've won. I'm glad that Rick Hearst and Chad Brannon did though. Vanessa looked gorgeous, she was pretty good. I'm also surprised that Eden Riegel didn't win.

I didn't watch because I was thoroughly disgusted with the Emmys last year when Port Charles was repeatedly robbed. So congrats to all the winners even though my dream man Thorsten Kaye wasn't one of them, and neither was Brian Presley. *sob*
