It doesn't really matter to me how long they were married, just how long they were together. My parents didn't suddenly love each other more when they got married and neither did my grandparents (both dated 7 years before marrying). Eleven years is eleven years; all that matters to me is they did get married (and only because that's what they wanted). Time together is time together.

TETO, yeah. But as for the show's past scenarios I find it odd that Ted can almost marry Stella after so many months, so fast but cant marry Tracy until after 7 + yrs. Weird to me.

He was 27 when the show premiered in 2005, so in 2030 he's 52.

Agreed. He was born in 1978 (because Lily and Marshall met freshman year of college and have been 'rockin' it since '96'), so that makes him 52 in 2030.

Tracy was 21 in 2005, which means she was born in 1984, which makes her 40 in 2024 when she died, and she would be 46 in 2030 if she was still alive.

To me, waiting to get married showed maturity. When he was young, he had to get married, get married, get married, because he seemed to think that proved love or made it more valid. But he got older, met Tracy, loved her, had kids with her, and knew that marriage wouldn't really change much. They still finally got it done, but not because they felt their love needed to be validated.

So that would make Ted 46 when she passed away.

And wasn't Robin born in 1980? So that'd put her at 50 in 2030, and Barney at what…55? Dang.

I think the amount of times I've watched their meeting scene is approaching 100. There's no doubt it's my favorite scene of the entire series.
