I can see the writers having a lot of fun with this. Near-misses, etc. I sometimes forget how invested I am in the mother, until I get teases like these and then I get all giddy.

It's true, they really do that! Make us think about other things entirely, focusing on different storylines and then WHAM! We get hit with this big hint about the Mother. I love it

Hum, yeah, you're right, I guess. Now that we know that the Mother was in Ted's class, we can pretty much assume it's not Victoria. Ted would have noticed and recognized her!

I think we can conclude that it's nobody he's dated because it's not somebody he's met before. He's been quite specific in saying that it's not anybody he's met yet. Still... if it was to be Victoria, that was a big room. She could easily have been hiding! Not that I would have expected her to be in an architecture class  __________________

I really liked that quote.... because Ted is always looking for her and never stopped to think she's looking for him too. Ted's just really desperate to get married. With the mother, I want a really nice buildup. __________________
