Hi everyone ,

The Fan Forum Graphics Team is in the process of (re)customising message boards and now it's your turn!

If you have any picture or colour suggestions please post them in this thread. Don't post (hotlink) the pictures, links to them are fine. Make sure that the pictures are of as high quality as possible and that the top of the head of the person in the picture isn't cropped off. We also like to use photoshoot images when possible, preferably individual pictures of each cast member. When suggesting colours please keep in mind that some colours will work better than others. The Team usually tries to avoid really vibrant and dark colours because we have found in the past that they are hard to look at for long periods of time. If you would like some help coming up with colour combinations we recommend checking out the design seeds website.

Everyone is encouraged to voice their opinions for this as you are the ones who will be posting on the board and we hope to make as many people happy with the finished result as possible. It does not matter if you are a board moderator, regular poster, or casual poster here. If you have a suggestion, please share it here with us .

Your suggestions for possible pictures and colours will be taken into serious consideration, but in the interest of seeing every board receive the best customised look possible the final decision concerning how this board will be customised will be made by the members of the Graphics Team. This is because we want to make sure that the selected graphic and colours fit into the overall design scheme that we've established for Fan Forum.

For a full explanation of the message board customisation process, see this thread. If you have any questions, please feel free to send Rae or Mel a PM or ask the Team on the message board customisation thread.

Please leave this topped until a week or so after the board has been (re)customised.

Note: It usually takes less than two weeks for us to finish making the new banner and the sooner we know what you want, the more we can work on it (though it can take a few months or so to set it up with the new colours on the board), so please let us know your suggestions as soon as possible.

When the Team have made and voted on a winning graphic I will close this thread until the graphic and colours get put up. It will then be re-opened so that you can share your thoughts about it.

This is awesome!

I suppose two color suggestions might be blue, for a French horn, and yellow, for a certain umbrella.

I hope everyone who has an idea can submit their suggestions here soon!

Maybe blue will work out, but a bit lighter? More like baby blue?

I like that idea, Arinna.

A light blue is less harsh. The deeper blues like the Dr. Who board are a bit tough to look at. Light blue or baby blue sounds nice.

We would use light blues as the main colours and the blue from the blue horn would be used in limited places as that blue would be too harsh on the eyes

. Would you prefer to have blue as the main colour or yellows? There are lots of different colour combinations out there but this one is half yellow and half blue to help get you thinking which you would prefer. We could then use the other colour for things like the buttons and links. So you could have a yellow board (a little like you have now only more yellow than brown) with blue in those parts, or you could have a blue board with yellow for the buttons and links. This is another one which has both and appears closer in shades to the horn and umbrella and we would just need to add some paler shades of the main colour used so it is not too harsh. But the team knows how to do that and we do not make dark boards anymore so you do not have to worry about that

(I am also going to presume you have not been to the Doctor Who board in a while as it is no longer blue and that was one reason we updated it but we know how it used to be to know what you were talking about).

There are lots of different colour schemes out there so feel free to check out the design seeds website to see if you can find something you like ~~especially if you do not like my quick finds~~

. Once we know if you would prefer to have a blue or a yellow board we can also help you look for some ideas too.

Of course if you do not want to use the yellow at all and wish to stick with blue that is fine as well

. I did see this colour scheme which may be a possibility? We could then use the brighter and darker blues from the blue horn for the bars, buttons, and links ~~or yellows if you like those blues and want to include yellows too~~.

Here are some I could find from season 9 for each of the characters but not sure if you want to go with the final season or something earlier? Also would you like Tracy/The Mother included or just the main five?

I do like the sky blue and the sunflower blue and yellow combination.

I really wish my co-mod weren't on vacation right now so she could help me out here.

I'm a guy and girls just do this better.

I really like all of those pics of the cast members.

I don't think I'd want the mother included because she really isn't a main cast member, but other posters might disagree. I just know that I would like to stick to the main five.

That first one you posted with the lighter blues and yellows was nice. The second seemed a little dark, I hate the darker color schemes, seems like it's harder to read on some of those boards.

I hadn't seen those pictures before, those are great, the group shots on that site are cute too. I'm 50/50 on Tracy being in it.

We no longer make dark boards but can still incorporate dark colours into the customisation. Nothing that I suggested would be too dark; the second one simply needs to be combined with some paler shades which could be taken from one of the other colour scheme suggestions

. That colour scheme was an example of shades of blue and yellow which appear similar to the horn and umbrella colours which had been suggested in this thread.

We have now finished making all the graphics and the Graphics Team are going to vote on a winner, so this thread will now be closed until the colours and graphic have been set up - then we will re-open it so you can tell us what you all think!
