Yeah, Jerry has done it forever. But at least before he had Jimmy Johnson to cover up the damage. Since Jimmy left it's been all downhill.

Yeah, I think the whole cast of Angel was shocked when WB cancelled them. But David went on to do Bones and now Navy SEALs, so his career has done well. With back to back to back hits like Buffy, Angel, Bones, and Navy SEALs, he's had the most consistently successful career in television.

I didn't know about that one, Mary. UPN was owned by CBS Corporation and the CW(previously the WB) is now owned by both Time/Warner and CBS Corporation, so I guess CBS was making a play for the shows. Was it Buffy they wanted at CBS, or Angel, or both?

Well, I think that Angel was counting on the Shanshu prophecy making him human again, so perhaps that way he'd be able to give Cordy a normal life, although Angel had already been made human once before and then asked the Powers That Be to return him to his vampire form so he wasn't useless to Buffy or as a Champion. So he was always kind of inconsistent in that area. Also, Cordy wasn't actually Cordy when Angelus was around, she was possessed by Jasmine, who had a vested interest in keeping Angelus around. Faith was a lot more effective in that area, I agree, but that was probably because she wasn't emotionally compromised when it came to Angel like Buffy was.

But I also agree that it wasn't fair to do what they did to Cordy, or any of the stuff that happened afterwards, but again, I think the mess that resulted from Buffy leaving WB and Charisma's pregnancy affecting season 4 of Angel had a lot to do with that. I also got the sense that they were playing around with Fred's infatuation with Angel, but they seemed to get her into the Wesley/Gunn thing fairly quickly so I don't think they ever really considered that. I think Angel/Cordy was the direction they decided to go in once Doyle was killed off due to late actor Glenn Quinn's off-set problems(which ended the Doyle/Cordy storyline) and Elizabeth Rohm left Angel for Law & Order, officially ending the Angel/Kate Lockley storyline.

Well Cordy is dead, so I don't see Angel having a future with her if he succeeded on the Shanshu Prophecy, and it is obvious that he loves Buffy more. I knew Cordy was possessed for the most of Season 4. I just got done watching it.

The doctors said that I had the stomach flu. They gave me medication, and I have been getting plenty enough sleep coming home from the doctor. I was in so much pain this morning.

Well, Cordy wasn't dead when Angel heard the Shanshu prophecy, so I'm still guessing that was on his mind. And again, I never really liked the "Angel loves Buffy more" argument considering that Buffy didn't have a problem moving on with Spike, and the Spuffy fans kept hating on Angel. That's probably why the Faith thing would've solved both problems.

Well, it's not like Angel automatically would get over Buffy after her own death just to put the moves on Cordy afterwards. It's not like he wanted to leave Sunnydale and leave her behind. The reason why he left was to protect Buffy. If he would be developing feelings for Cordy, the Cordy who hates Angelus and doesn't understand his bad side, he should have just left LA or fire Cordy to have her work elsewhere. Angel clearly did care for Buffy even if he was in LA. He still had a picture in his book and the memories of them together, especially in I Will Remember You. It's not like he would not care about Buffy even by hearing the news of her mother's death and her own death. Unlike Willow's treatment of Tara, Angel and Buffy treated each other with respect and never did anything to each other's own liking. Yes, Angel swiped Buffy's mind, but it was only for her own protection as well as the world. It's not like they had a big fight that ended up with Lethe's Bramble, to physical rape. So it is even more disrespectful of Angel to put moves onto Cordy after Buffy's OWN death!! It was disrespectful of the writers to even think about shoving a Cordy&Angel relationship down viewers throat after that. Why would Angel say Buffy's name BEFORE he lost his soul in the dream sequence in Awakening. As for Cordy, she has said more than once that Buffy and Angel had the best love of all time, and that she loves Buffy as much as the next. So it pisses me off for Cangels to complain about the fact that Angel loves Buffy more. Yes Buffy and Spike started off in a sexual relationship in Season 6 when she was in a depressed state, but she didn't automatically decided that she loves Spike. She liked him though, albeit used him a bit, but she didn't love him in that season. She did bring up Angel after sleeping with Spike in Wrecked. The time when she began to love Spike was from helping him out during his misery in the new Sunnydale High School basement in Season 7. She did still care about Angel in that season though because she compared her having to kill Anyanka to her killing Angel to Xander and Willow in Selfless. She loved Angel more than she loved anything at that time. If the writers haven't pushed for Cangel in Angel Season 3, it would make the Connor/Cordelia storyline would be a tad less wierd.

As for the Jasmine storyline, I don't understand how Angel coming back from hell in BTVS Season 3 would be her opportunity to set things in motion. Angel did have a purpose more than Jasmine did.

The only appropriate time for Angel (if Faith stayed in LA) to move on was at the end of Season 4 and when Buffy was indecisive about her boy situation with both Angel and Spike in Chosen. That would've saved the whole fighting with Spike over Buffy thing in Season 5. Spike was a bit selfish in that season considering he wanted to keep the fact that he was working for Wolfram and Hart with Angel and the others from Buffy. They should've instead fought over the Shanshu Prophecy than Buffy. Besides Angel has more in common with Faith than with Buffy. Faith is the only person Angel(us) has the best connection with. As for Buffy, she did inspire Spike to grow. It would be more fair for Angel that way.



I'm more of a Spuffy shipper, but that doesn't mean that I hate on Angel. I do enjoy Angel and the time he spent in Sunnydale, it is just Buffy&Angel would clash over their leadership/boss skills

You mean Barry Switzer? Yeah, he won that Super Bowl mostly on the strength of the team that Jimmy Johnson put together. His team lost to the 49ers in the NFC Championship Game in 1995, and the next year they beat the Steelers to win Super Bowl XXX in 1996, but that was the last championship the Cowboys ever won. It was all downhill after that. Jerry Jones has faced the brunt of the blame.

Yeah, David has been the most consistently successful TV actor of the last two decades with four hit shows back to back to back to back.

Well, like I told you, Mary, I think that Kate Lockley was who they initially wanted as Angel's love interest on the show. I don't think they had any illusions about Buffy and Angel living happily ever after. Cordy and Doyle was also a storyline they initially wanted to pursue, but again, events happened the way they happened. Glenn Quinn and Elizabeth Rohm left the show for various reasons, Wesley replaced Doyle, Fred and Gunn were introduced, Buffy died and the show moved to UPN, the writers decided to go in the direction of Angel/Cordelia, Buffy came back and got together with Spike, that stupid Conor storyline happened that made no sense, Charisma's pregnancy ended up changing Joss Whedon's plans for season 4, etc. Jasmine wasn't even supposed to exist. Cordy was supposed to be the villain of season 4 and Angel was going to battle her and bring her back to normal or something, but Charisma's pregnancy necessitated a total change in the storyline. So basically a lot of stuff happened that was beyond anyone's control. It's a shame because I really would've liked to have seen what those shows would've been like if things had gone differently. Oh, and the Conor/Cordelia thing would've been weird no matter what.

Oh, I forgot that you were a Spuffy shipper. Well, I've seen other Spuffy fans who hated on Angel. But again, I do think that they at least could've done something with Angel/Faith instead of having her go to Sunnydale and having Angel get involved with wolf-girl.

Yep, I couldn't think of his name off the top of my head. From what I've read about Switzer, it sounds like he didn't give a **** about reigning in his players. Jerry Jones definitely doesn't have the great football mind he thinks he has.

I hope not. And yeah, Barry didn't last long with the Cowboys; just three years and he was gone. Jerry Jones doesn't have a good relationship with his coaches. Jimmy Johnson quit on him, and Bill Parcelles couldn't stand him either. Jones thinks he's the coach of the team.

Yes it is. David's gonna retire a wealthy man from all the royalties he gets from all of those shows, since they all crossed the 100 episode mark. His new show is going into its second season.
