It's that time where once again were celebrating an awesome milestone. 125k, hopefully we'll be around to celebrate more. The series finale definitely shook things up both series wide and for this board. Hopefully as time past those who have left will remember the great times with friends here and slowly return to continue discussing the awesomeness that is HIMYM. Cause even if there was a tragic twist to the happy story we were all waiting for him to finish telling, it still was an amazing story to watch. I've been at this board for over three years and met some amazing people here, and FF for nearly 14 years, that's half my lifetime. It's been a fun and crazy ride, just like the ride with this show, which even if I don't fully get how they got to their ending, it's still one of my favorite shows, I still marathon random episodes, it's still a fun show to watch and laugh at and with. Super happy to be celebrating another milestone with you guys - Crystal (Mysteria)

I was never a fan of How I Met Your Mother until I started watching the show online during the spring and summer of 2013 at the suggestion of my co-moderator. After watching the first season I was immediately hooked, and fell in love with the rich, imaginative storytelling, the perfect blend of both comedic and emotional themes, and of course, the unforgettable characters.

My favorite character was Barney Stinson, who, as played by the excellent Neil Patrick Harris, stole every scene he was in. Barney was like the flashy lead guitarist of group(who was ironically prone to playing air guitar), blazing a stream of comedic riffs that made him one of the funniest characters on television.

If Barney was the lead guitarist, then Marshall and Lily formed the band's rhythm section - the bass and percussion of the story. Marshall and Lily were the heart and soul of the group, the steady, unbreakable couple that kept the show grounded. In Marshall and Lily we saw the relationship we all wanted to have, yet we also saw a couple that was instantly recognizable and relatable. The performances of Jason Segel and Alyson Hannigan were emotional, heartfelt, and adorable.

Finally, there was Ted and Robin, the frontman and frontwoman of the group; the lead singers who tore into the hearts of the audience with their romantic, heartbreaking, and enduring relationship. I know that their love story polarized many fans, but for me, Ted and Robin were the emotional core of the series and the reason I remained a fan of the show. I fell in love with their story from the very first episode, and remained a fan of the couple's on-again, off-again relationship, right up to their final "happily-ever-after" ending.

No matter history says of the show, I will always remain a fan of How I Met Your Mother. Its message was about how the friends and relationships you have in your life forge you into the person you will ultimately become, and how constantly looking for "the one" can blind you to finding the one you should be with when they may be right in front of you. And how there is no such thing as a "love of one's life," as it is always possible that there can be more than just one. To me, and many other fans, How I Met Your Mother will always "last forever." - Alex (PhoenixRising)

The How I Met Your Mother board has been a place I’ve been frequenting for years. Few shows – and even fewer sitcoms – have this degree of guessing and second guessing, so many puzzle pieces to fit together, and so much controversy. The board heard every opinion and theory in the book and to come and read what everyone thought was so mentally stimulating for me. And now, it’s a place that my favorite character, Tracy McConnell, can live on in discussion with people who adore her as much as I do. I would like to say that How I Met Your Mother is a wonderful comedy. The show is one of my favorites. The show clearly has heart to it, and I'm glad that it went on for so many years. HIMYM feels my heart and mouth with laughter and mirth when I'm down. I love the show so much that it makes posting on it's message board fun. - Mary (*Amethyst*)
