I read Animal Farm for school. I don't remember if they gave us 1984, but I just remember the story not holding my interest as much as Animal Farm. Farm was much more of an allegory of the rise of the Soviet Union, whereas 1984 was a fictional prediction of what the future would be if communism went global. The problem is that by the time I even heard of 1984 the year 1984 had already come and gone, and that future never happened. At least not in the western hemisphere.

Maybe you were too young to appreciate it. You may give it a try again. Many things in this book are very actual and are happening. It makes you think about how we are manipulated and controlled. It helps you to question things.
