But that was on the 4th day. I mean we were added the 1st of the month. Which means that the 05.01 we had 0 posts and the 05.07 we have over 2k
However it's counted we're still doing great!

I'm not sure how all boards do it but I do believe posts counts are done on Sundays, to account for the actual week at hand. So the initial count here may have been only on the 4th day but that's because it was the Sunday. Next Sunday should give us the count for the week we just did. I think

I'm just speculating here though. This is just how I've seen it done on most boards.

But yeah, either way the board is doing great.

As I've always done it post counts are done week to week. The current count is what the board has done from the moment we got it until the count was initially done. So, since the last day we posted a count was on Sunday the 4th most likely something will be posted on the 11th just to keep a general count of how we are doing.

Well as far as "okay" and "poorly" Fan Forum requires 15 posts per day which averages out to about 105 posts per week. To be on the safe side of posting boards wishing to be "in the black" so to speak should average about 150 posts per week or more. There are boards that average 1,000 per week so it could be said that those boards are doing "excellent". Either way, any board on needs to keep above the 15 posts per day rule to stay here. Hope that answers the question Daphne.

The initial post count was done from the day we got our board until Sunday, so no, it wasn't a full week.....just a few days.

Next week will be a full week's count. Jerry keeps track of the weekly post counts (Sunday to Sunday) for the new boards. Once the board moves to it's permanent category, the Mods will have to keep track manually if they choose to as far as weekly post counts.

As Mandy said above, a board needs at least 105 posts a week to remain on FF.

Good and bad is relative though. 150 posts a week for some boards is a great accomplishment whereas for others it might be a need to worry. Every board has it's own pace, etc.

No problem, we are here to help. If post counts are your thing, and they are mine, you can keep track of them yourself using the last posted count and looking up the forum category. For example:

1638 is the last count that was done. You can go and look at all the boards that are in the new forum category and see both how many thread each forum has and how many post each forum has. Right now the forum as 2205 posts which is 567 more posts than it had when it was calculated on Sunday. That way, if you're curious, you'll always know.

It's pretty relative although when you have around 100 posts per day (as it's probably our case?) then I think the board is doing extremely well. Obviously you can't compare it to the craziness of the huge ones like OTH but then again, personally I prefer smaller boards; they're more cozy and you get to know people better
