I hope it's ok to post this....just some cast members talking about Britney's second appearance (nothing spoilery, just praises)

Ok, let's just hope it's just this episode and then that's done. I just don't enjoy stunt casting on this show. And I really don't like Britney Spears in general.

Do you think those comments were sincere? Or just tabloid BS to make it seem like everyone was civil. Sorry, I just don't like Britney on "my" show.

I heard the cast say good things about her the first time around as well...I'm assuming it's genuine.

I'm totally with you. I'd much rather not have her back... Especially since there are so many other people that could re-appear who you know... actually *can act*! I can't stand it when TV shows have to get non-actors guest stars just to boost the ratings.

As for their comments, even if they wouldn't want her there, they wouldn't be able to say it. I doubt we'll ever know. I'm curious as to what Neil will say, especially since he didn't seem like a big fan of that idea the last time they asked him about Britney.

I don't mind, as long as this is it, and she's not back any more. After that I'll start getting annoyed.

Neil was right, the show doesn't need Will & Grace style stunt casting. They haven't had to rely on it before, though, so I've got my fingers crossed it's a complete one off as far as that goes. No more casting non-actors just because they're famous. If they're going to cast somebody who is known for something other than acting, it needs to be for a reason (a musician, socialite etc - though I hope not the second one!) - like they're playing themselves and it needs to be that way for the storyline.

It's not like it'll make me stop watching, they just don't need to do it.

Risking to sound mean, I'm not sure why people seem to love the idea of her guest starring or gods help us all, becoming a recurrent character. My general dislike for her aside, she's simply not an actress and it shows

I think she was better than I was expecting, but considering how low my expectations were that's not actually saying too much.

I think a lot of people (myself included) are okay with it while it's only one or two appearances because like it or not, the publicity really helps the ratings - and if it gets us a S4, I'll be sad that it's taken Britney to guarantee us an S4 but the fact there's actually a season four will be enough to stop that sadness!

I don't mind Britney guest starring. I actually thought she did a good job the first time around, all things considered.

I'm not saying I'd want her to come back regularly, but I just don't mind having her on the show as a guest star. If anything, she brings in good ratings...

That's very true. What surprise me actually are the praises and "OMG she's doing a comeback" comments around the net just because she's doing something "normal"

True but in terms of popular culture it sadly says a lot about the society that a funny and nicely written show can't get viewers other way than by getting such guest stars.

Yeah. It does say a lot... but if that's the way it is, then that's the way it is, and if I have to have a couple of Britney appearances to guarantee the safety of the show, I can deal.

Because I know I'm onto something special and everybody else is just missing out

Britney looks really nice in that picture. My friend, who is a longtime Britney fan, said "Why can't she be on that show every week? They're the only ones able to make her look normal!"
