Both The Mayor and Angelus were my favorite villains of the show.

Yeah, but Season 2 is my favorite season due to obvious reasons. The tone was perfect for a vampire show.

It was frustrating for me because of the whole Jenny Calendar thing, and Xander got more annoying.

Well I do understand Jenny Calendar because she was conflicted with both her family and her love for Giles. Plus she did try to re-ensoul Angel.....just not in a safe way. I also understand Xander on the vampires thing because vampires did kill and sire Jesse. He did present some good qualities that season, but the whole complaining about Oz/Willow thing after not noticing her FOR YEARS was pretty ridiculous. He did save Buffy's life in Phases and Go Fish. He was overprotective towards Cordelia. He did put his friendship with Willow first before his crush on Buffy in When She Was Bad.
