That is very weird. I had assumed during the episode that she'd end up not moving there as I knew she hadn't signed on for more than one episode, but then she did, and just... weirdness!

I think we tried to work out the Ted-Barney-Fiero incident based on mileage - the mileage on the clock was about 180,000, so about 20,000 short of when the Fiero died. That's probably anywhere between one year before the episode and three, depending on how much they use the car. Obviously they don't drive a huge amount around the city but Marshall a) tried to drive it to Philly and b) does drive it home to Minnesota on occasion.

I thought if the incident happened before the show started, that it would give Barney room to learn to drive in another car. However, it happens sometime after the show starts, and after they all have met Robin.

Something small that I noticed is when Ted describes seeing Marshall for the first time, he's wearing headphones, lying in bed, feet on the wall but when they actually show the meeting Marshall's freaking out about the "dean" coming and not relaxing in his bed.

But he was pulled over for tickets, so wouldn't the officers see that it wasn't his car and he didn't have a license?

Yeah, but that was recently. I think Miya's talking about the possibility that pre-Fiero ep, he wasn't a driver.

I was watching the Pilot, and a few other season one episodes and I noticed a few more errors.

Ted said he was the night Lily and Marshall met, but he wasn't around when Marshall went to go help Lily set up.

The other is, Marshall and Lily got together soon after they met, so in August/September, but in the middle of season one, they celebrate their 9 year anniversary.

Lily said Marshall was the only guy she saw/would see naked (in the episode where she paints Barney nude) but in the episode First Time in New York, Scooter 'splashed around in her pool'. Doesn't it take taking off your clothes to do that?

Wow the Barney driving one was real interesting hadnt thought of that

I dont know if this can be considered a goof or not but Robin once noticed that Barney has the same pose in alllll of his pictures, but ...

he doesnt have the pose in the opening credits

It seems often they forget the show is what he's supposed to be telling his children.
So we have an episode where they replace the word bitch with the word 'grinch', but then later on they use that word constantly, playing games like "name that skank/name that bitch".
