I've never seen him work this hard to keep one around.

Barney: It's not sweet, it's like a disease. I slept with Robin one time and I caught feelings.

I see Robin. I hear a song, it reminds me of Robin. ... I sleep with that chick, I'm thinking about Robin!

Marshall: I know that you're in love with Robin! ... Lily told me.
Barney: She told you? Great, I bet you guys have been laughing
at me behind my back the whole time.
Marshall: Actually, in a weird way, we both think you're kinda perfect for each other.
Barney: You do?
Marshall: Yeah, matter of fact we even tried to sit on the same side of the booth
so you two would have to sit together.
Barney: Really? That's so sweet!

Robin: I love you.
Barney: Let's be friends.
Robin: Okay, friends then.
Barney: I love you.
Robin: Let's get married.
Barney: No, you're smothering me.
Robin: Okay forget it.
Barney: AHHHH!
Robin: AHHHH!

Robin: We're both afraid of commitment but the fact is, we also can't live without each other.
Barney: And if the alternative is not being together
then it's work taking this risk 'cause ... She's awesome.
Robin: And he's awesome. ... He looks nice in a suit.
Barney: She can handle her scotch.
Robin: He's my boyfriend.
Barney: And she's my girlfriend.

Barney: So you sure you're not upset?
Robin: Of course I'm upset, Barney! Don't you see how constantly talking about your conquests
make me feel like I'm just another number to you?!
Barney: But you're not just another number to me.
Robin: And now you're taking Anita, who you barely know on this amazing date when I never
got treated that way. It just sucks, that's all. It just sucks.
Barney: Wow. I knew I was bad at being a boyfriend bur I had no idea I'd be so much worse at
being an ex-boyfriend. I,m sorry. What can I do to make it up to you?
Robin: Nothing, Barney. You've already proven that I'm not important to you.
Barney: Stop that. I'm serious. Ask me for anything.
Robin: Uh, okay. Don't sleep with Anita.
Barney: Done.
Robin: Barney, of course you're gonna sleep with her. Why else would you be taking
her on the super-date.
Barney: She's not going on the super-date, Robin. You are.

I think both us and fans of the show saw
that they had great chemistry back in season one,
when Barney and Robin kind of wingman'ed each other one night in
Zip, Zip, Zip - they played laser tag and smoked cigars and stuff, and all the fans
started speculating that clearly it has to go that way. We just didn't want to rush towards it,
so we held off for a while. But ultimately we knew we wanted to get to that because they're great together.

Barney's feelings for Robin are out there,
and it seems like Robin might have
feelings for Barney herself.

It's not classic happily ever after, to say the least. It's two people that aren't
programmed for happily ever after and never would have prioritized that,
were it not for the fact that they're crazy about each other.

(Especially since I'm not really a believer in soulmates, not as a general rule) but I'll take anything if it pertains to B/R.

That's what I'm curious about. From what happened in this episode, it's obvious that Barney thinks Robin is the one for him - the montage about her being his best friend, and him wanting to spend their lives together. Now clearly, what happened at the end of the episode hurt Barney badly. What I'm wondering is, now that Barney has come to the realization that Robin is it for him, but she "rejected" him, at least momentarily, will he continue to hold out hope that she will eventually come around and be ready to try again with him? Or will this cause him to lose all hope and decide that he needs to truly try to get over Robin if he ever wants to settle down?

What do you guys think? Do you think Barney will hold out hope for them or do you think he'll make a genuine effort to move past Robin? (Not that I think he'll succeed - at least, I hope not!)

It's hard to tell what he will decide to do. Because he did get hurt, badly and I think he will try to move on, thinking that Robin made her choice for good. He'll think he has no choice but to do so. He's obviously not gonna be able to move on from her since "no one else can compare" but I don't know if he'll be holding out hope for them to be together again. I coulde see him trying to fight for her but he got crushed and it will take some time to heal so I don't know if he will let himself be vulnerable like that just yet. Even if Robin does break up with Kevin and decides she wants to be with Barney, I don't see him saying yes right then. She will have to make it up to him, big time. He opened up his heart to her last night and she'll have to do the same if she wants him back, which she will. I'm sure Barney knows that she does love him but right now, he must not be so sure anymore, that's why Robin will have to make it clear to him that feels the same way he does.

As much as I want to go back and watch the last ep again for all the cute BR moments in the earlier part of the episode, I dont think I can handle seeing that episode again, atleast not this soon. For the first time I really genuinely dont think I can handle watching that episode again...it's too much. I know this is what makes the show interesting but if they dont fix this next week I dont know how I'll get through their winter break.

Also, I'm seeing so much hate about Robin from the fans. Even people saying they will never be able to redeem her character to the audience.

I think it's obviously part of the writers' plan. They wanted it to be this frustrating and I think they knew people weren't gonna agree with Robin's choice and there's no doubt they also have it planned to make it up to us, by bringing BR back together but by also having Robin make it right for Barney later. Of course, this will gets all kinds of reaction seeing how it just aired last night but Robin is a big character, the writers won't let her be shown as the girl who totally broke Barney's heart and stomped on it

I'm actually enjoying the angst and seeing how everything will work out because it's gonna be so worth it in the end

After the end of the relationship of Barney and Nora everything pointed on Robin to be the bride (and it still does) but with the rejection the writers want to bring more tension in the whole "How is going to marry, Barney" storyline. Everyone thought that the bride will be Robin or Nora, but now Nora is gone and Robin is gone too, because she did chose another guy.
