I think it was from season 2, although I can't remember the title. I can look it up.

It was Slapsgiving, one of my favorites, just cause of the slaps

It was the episode Ted and Robin had to talk about their issues since their other friends didn't show up.

Hi, Mary! I'm glad to see you! We've missed you!
Yeah, I actually liked season 3 because it showed that Ted and Robin were far from over. They just had to death with their issues first, but I really think the writers could've not let things slip too far out of control. You could see that it was really hard for Ted to see Robin with her new guy, and it was hard for her to see Ted with Stella. They still loved each other. __________________

S3 was one of my favorites, especially because it was shorten due to the writers strike that year, so the episodes of the second half were rushed, but turned out to be good, they didn't overthink things thanks to the time crunch.

Yeah, but it was only shortened by four episodes. They still had 20 episodes that year. But I agree that shorter seasons are more focused.

It was shorter, but also the last I think 8 or 9 episodes. Wherever the mid season break was, When they resumed filming there was a severe time crunch since they hadn't been allow to film or write, they were pretty much writing the episodes while filming them and then the episodes were airing very shortly after. So there was no time to overthink the story lines, whatever they had, they had.

Good point. We know what happens when Bays and Thomas overthink things. But at least they didn't drag things out too much and were able to still stay close to Ted and Robin's post-breakup relationship.

Thanks, Crystal.
It did get frustrating, watching Bays and Thomas always teasing Ted and Robin, but then doing something to snafu everything... always waiting for that finale episode that kept getting pushed back season after season. __________________

Well season 9 was really the only extra one... they didn't really tease about ending it too much before then. I wish they had done it a little differently though. The whole taking place over 3 days thing was a bit crazy.

Well, they did kind of tease Ted and Robin throughout seasons 7 and 8. Symphony of Illumination, The Burning Beekeeper, The Drunk Train, No Pressure, and then their moment in Central Park at the end of season 8. They just took way too much time getting there in season 9. Season 6 was really the only season I remember that had no Ted/Robin teases.
