Over the holidays, there were new photos of Zoe Kravitz and Penn Badgley looking loved up in humid Miami. I know Miami was humid because Penn Badgley’s curly hair morphed in what I can only describe as the biggest afro I’ve ever seen on a white boy. Zoe didn’t seem to mind, though. She and Penn happily posed for candid paparazzi photos in and out of pool, at the beach and around town. They looked very sweet together. Not hot, not sexy, but cute. Comfortable.
I tend to think this relationship is good for both of them, despite my earlier misgivings. Penn’s swagger has greatly increased since he started with Zoe – when he was with his previous girlfriend, Blake Lively, Penn seemed neutered and fey. Now he seems more like a little mini-hipster, and it seems like he’s genuinely interested in Zoe, sexually and otherwise. Meanwhile, Zoe gets a real boyfriend, a dude who will spend a lot of time with her and share her interests – which Michael Fassbender probably did not. Fassy probably only shared one interest with Zoe: unleashing the beast within and wrecking the g–damn sweetshop. Bless him. Anyway, In Touch Weekly has a nice little blurb about how Zoe and Penn are moving so “fast”:
Blake who? Penn Badgley definitely seems to be over his ex, Blake Lively, and he’s already moving on in a big way with new flame Zoe Kravitz. The couple, who debuted their relationship in October, displayed some major PDA by the pool in Miami on Dec. 23. Now friends say the relationship has become so serious that Zoe, 23, and Penn, 25, are living in each other’s homes on both coasts.
“It’s only been three months, but this relationship is moving forward at lightning speed,” an insider explains. Penn has already met Zoe’s dad, Lenny Kravitz, the source says, and her mom, Lisa Bonet. The source says, “Penn and Zoe are inseparable!”

Yes, they’re moving fast, but… they’ve been dating for longer than three months. “Three months” puts the start date of their relationship at early October. Zoe and Penn were spotted together on dates throughout the summer of 2011! Pretty much as soon as Zoe was done promoting X-Men: First Class at the end of June, it looked like she and Fassy were done and she immediately picked up with Penn. Of course, in September, Zoe showed up in Toronto with Fassy, but I tend to think that was just a torrid out-of-town hookup, no harm, no foul, and nothing serious.
