idk really.
Maybe seeing them deal with some external fact that would rock their lives. Or seem them deal with some sort of separation. Being a couple but having to be apart for some reason. I think since that moment when they went to the lake they've been together all the time. For the good and for the bad. The problem with this second option is that it would limit their scenes together. lol so no... maybe I don't want that.

ETA: I would like to see NE as happy. I really don't care if they're not in the movie a lot. I've always seen them a bit like Collins/Angel from RENT, if anyone knows what I mean. (Though obviously much less tragic.) NE are kind of what all the other characters hold their own relationships up against, IMHO. It's be cool to see that happening in the movie.

I am hoping that they have angst as characters but not as a couple. They have had enough angst as a couple. It time to do something different with them. And frankly there just isn't the time to have big angst with them, as they won't be the central characters.

I think I know what you mean. I'd like them to have a storyline in the movie, not just be there. Not that they'd have to be the main story, but have something as a couple. Go through fluff and angst.
But yea, in the end I agree about that last bit of yours too. And I think that's kinda of who they are in that group.
