I bet Skins though it's a 'hype' thing to do. I can now imagine how their stream of thoughts looked like: Next to drug usage and heavy partying, playing in a band is what most kids strive for. Let's then provide them with a magnificent escapism! Show 'em how cool and jazz, and laid-back and sexy our characters are with guitars, drums and microphone to top things off. Oh, and don't forget those fancy costumes and MASCARA.

This is why I cannot take Skins seriously. Frankly, this is the first show I am watching and actively participating in fandom because of other people, not my personal preferences.

I'm sure they thought if was a hilarious idea too. Let's have the farmboy wearing metalhead clothes! So funny!

I don't know why Skins insists on trying to make music happen on the show. Apart from Tony singing in S1 and the Sexxxbombz, everything else was a mess imo. I thought the Obama musical was so stupid (unpopular opinion, i guess) and I can't stress enough how much Cook and JJ singing made me cringe. No thank you.
