(1) Is Tony's whole effort to get Sid together with Michelle in s1e5 motivated by a desire for a threesome? Doesn't the way Tony pulls Sid back into a three-way dance with Michelle and him at the bar seem to suggest that?

When Sid wants none of that, and pulls away, Tony gives him a contemptuous "bugger off" hand gesture. That's really the most pissed we see Tony get, ever, I think. He's just been turned down, and he's not used to that.

The Tony-Maxxie interaction in s1e6 doesn't just come out of nowhere, without foreshadowing.

But Tony really cares for Sid. There's real affection in that three-way-dance scene. It seems to be Tony's first effort to try to bring some affection into his sex with Michelle -- not just to bring some sex into his affectionate relationship with Sid. And Michelle doesn't seem to have a problem with it; maybe she understands Tony rather well. (Well enough to see his potential for redemption certainly; why else would she put up with him?)

(2) Why are Sid's T-shirts always so weird? Symbolism? If so, it's eluded me so far.

I've always thought the idea to mess up with Sid and Michelle to test them in a way.
To see how far he can go with them and see if they'll stay with him or not.
I didn't give many attention to the t-shirts (except that I found Sid's t-shirts hilarious),but I guess you're probably right since you seem to notice interesting things Finnegan.
Do you have a pair of t-shirts in particular in your mind?

Certainly there's that. But why mess with Sid and Michelle in that way? Tony's pretty plainly suggesting a threesome in that dance scene, isn't he? And what's the point of having gotten Sid and Michelle together, then showing up himself, if that's not what he's intended all along? Tony's not inconsistently impulsive ... he plans his actions.

Most obviously, there's the stupid nose-honking "MegaDog" T-shirt in s1e5, reprised in s1e9; and Sid wears a T-shirt with a huge white hand on it when he and Michelle go to visit Cassie in the asylum after she tries to kill herself in S1; then there's the T-shirt with the fluorescent green man on it (a few posts back on this thread) ... more, too, I believe, but I can't recall them all now. At some point, however, Sid stops wearing stupid T-shirts, doesn't he? I mean, I don't recall any from s2, does anyone?

I'd never thought about it like that, I always just asumed he did it because he likes to mess with people. It always confused me how he pulled Sid back for a moment, I think its likely that is what he was after I wouldnt put it past Tony.
