Still sad that Francesca is gone. I get emotional everytime I think about it. Feels like I'm missing a piece of my heart. I don't really know what to do.

Edit: I can't believe that I can talk about Franky for hours and never get bored. I can only do that with a few characters(Effy, Tea, Tony) She is such an masterpiece of an character. If Gen 3 does have a special episode next year, Franky better be in the episode.

Why dont you think Franky would be in it or Dakota? Most of skins cast claims that they really enjoy filming skins so i dont see why she wouldnt come back.



I have started an analysis of Franky and i have to finish it later today, i promise. I added a little more to it.


Franky’s past: Franky’s past is the most interesting thing about her. She comes from a very dysfunctional childhood that has drastically affected her personality and view of people. In her childhood, she was given up for adoption. Franky moved from foster home to foster home, being bullied by her fellow peers for being different and weird. Franky never met her mother which is a very essential aspect of growing up. She considers herself different when she thought 911 was beautiful and she realized it was a bad thing by her teacher. She was never accepted by the norm since she had an androgynous look. Franky has never been close to someone since she has constantly be moved from family to family so she most likely developed abandonment issues. She was never given time to adapt to her surroundings so she never knew how to be “normal” in her eyes. Franky has been abandoned most of her childhood so that is why she pushes people away, she never lets anyone get close to her, even her dads. I can’t really explain Dean because I never read the series 5 book but I’ll try to do that later on. It's very understandable why Franky has intimacy issues since she has never been close to anyone besides Dean. The one thing that gave Franky an identity of her own was through her creativity. Her interest in self-expression gave her a sense of comfort in her atmosphere and the closeness between her and her creations. That is mainly why we see her as having a friendship with her doll in s5, she needed an imaginary friend since she had no real friends.But of course she let the doll go once she began to have real friends.

Franky’s Series 6 Conclusion: Franky’s conclusion is what she need, some reassurance and self-reflection. Franky has desperately needed a woman figure throughout her life and she got 2 in the finale. She finally found her mother through her sister. Franky also decided to fix herself instead of destroying everyone else’s life when she let go of Matty and Nick with the help of Grace. This was a very bold decision that she needed to make to help herself from going mental with all the stress. I wish we could have seen more of the sister and mother's personalities and how accepting they are towards Francesca. Will this life-changing experience actually help change Francesca? Only time can tell, hopefully in S7

Personality of Franky: Franky has a very vast variety of personalities that she portrays through s5 and s6. She is determined, afraid, angry, annoyed, cruel, helpful, etc. The list can go on forever honestly. Franky has a very dynamic personality that showcases her vast qualities and characteristics and how her life has been a struggle.

Character Development: Franky has developed from the very beginning of s5. She opened up to Grace/Liv/Mini/Rich/Alo instead of pushing them away. Throughout s5, she is very helpful of the gang, helping them with personal problems. Her biggest changes and growth began in s6. Franky has become a more confident person from her relationship with Matty. Franky is very straightforward with her complaints about Matty's behavior and decided to break it off. Franky began to become interested in what i call"Matty 2.0", aka Luke. Luke has the mysterious, unpredictable personality that Matty once had before his relationship with Franky but with a twist, he is dangerous in a bad way. Once Grace dies from the car accident, Franky is left in a cycle of guilt and blame of herself. This is considered problematic because Franky began to act more bitter and mean to everyone, even her close friends. Once the aggression and anger consumes her mentally, she goes back to Luke for reconciliation since he was apart of the accident. But Luke once again charms her and she begins to go into his life. This leads Franky down a path of expressing her anger through violence and mayhem. Franky loves how aggressive Luke is with her because it feeds her anger. She begins to realize that someone does care for her, Nick, and she begins to understand that her new lifestyle is not good. It was topped off by Luke's anger towards Franky for still being connected to the brothers. So as a punishment, he rapes her for being disrespectful. This cause Franky to realize that Luke doesnt love her if he is willing to hurt her. Franky leaves and finally realizes how bad Grace has affected her mentally(causing her to be angry and aggressive) and the new way she is acting is unacceptable. Franky receives an amazing talk with her dad that lets her realize how important she is. Franky then leaves Luke officially and starts a new found friendship with Nick. Franky begins to come closer too Mini once she realizes that something is up with the way Mini is acting. She is amazed to find out Mini is having a baby. For the sake of the baby not ending up like her, she becomes close to Mini and closer to the baby. Franky hates the idea that Mini's mom wants to get an abortion and tries to save the baby by getting Mini to run away with her. This is when Mini finally realizes why Franky is so attached, because its a way of fixing herself and her guilt with Gracie. Since Franky's original plans didnt work, she decides to run away and find her mother. Instead of finding her mother, she finds her sister instead but her sister tricks her into believing her mother was a bad parent and died. Franky has a reality check talk with her sister but she doesnt care, she wants answers. She begins to run away again but hurts herself badly. But i sight of all the badness, she comes to Mini to talk but Liv is there and tells Franky off. Franky can only cry because she realizes that it is the truth, its her fault again. So Franky decides to go to the party, but sees but Matty and Nick so she trys to run away again. Franky finally cant run anymore but she needs help facing her problems so thankfully Grace helps. Franky does the perfect decision by letting Matty and Nick solve their problems with each other while also leaving and fixing herself, bravo Franks. Franky now leaves and talks to her sister about why she was givin up for adoption and whats wrong with her. Her sister tells her everything is going to be alright. Cara tells Franky how she lied to Franky about her mom tricking her to come with her. Franky leaves with her and her dad and Franky is finally reunited with her mother. They both cry when they see each other ending Franky's storyline in s6, beautifully.

I know I'm new here so my input probably doesn't mean a great deal, but I think your analysis sounds great so far! I'm thinking of doing my own interpretation of her story soon, since she was by far my favorite Skins character. I look forward to reading your analysis once it's done. :]

Yay, a fellow Franky fan! I'll be sure to get around to writing one when I have the time. She's such an endlessly fascinating person, I kind of wish I knew someone like her in real life. I'm going to miss her. </3

Yeah, its not many Franky fans/stans anymore after s6 but its some of us left . She is very fascinating, she is giving Tony a run for his money in complexity. I also am going to miss her a lot. I've cried about it a couple times since i connect with Franky on another level. Its like missing a piece of myself and im still afraid to watch the finale again because i will start crying. When i was writing my analysis, i had to watch some of the Franky parts in the episode but i had to stop when she was about to go with her sister to see her mother, i was about to cry again.


But im finally done with my analysis.

A possible theory for Franky's self-destructive behaviour

How she befriended (or had sex) with her ENEMIES or people who were mean/ bad to her, and lost track of people who were actually nice to her

Mini had it out for her when she first started out (even though she was a closet lesbian) and Nick pulled a prank on her for her second day, although bad writing meant she never took heed of the issue

Not that I have a good understanding of psychology, but wouldnt people have a sense of "hating themselves" if they were to do that?
