 YOU KNOW WHAT REVELATION I JUST HAD!?!!? You know how they replaced Maxxie with the cute girl, Tea?? Would that mean that their next generation (if US Skins makes it that far) would have to have a gay male storyline?!??! Which would mean the twins- so they'll replace the Fitch sisters with like.... Fitch brothers!  (right.... or am I just thinking too hard tonight? lol) __________________

Lol well that is a good question. I remember reading something that said that they were pretty much guaranteed to have a male gay character in Gen 2 since they have Tea in the first gen. I have no idea if they will make him a twin though. I really hope they do though now that you've pointed that out. That would be so awesome to watch.
What are your thoughts on the US Skins and Gen 3 Alice? Do you plan to watch both or one of them? |

I think it'd actually be a good storyline, too- (I don't want any girl thinking they can trump HBIC Katie and her baby sister, so boys won't really be a threat, lol). i can really see a brother being upset at his sibling for being gay, given the whole masculinity issue that guys think they have to prove every second of every day, lol.
I'm really excited for US Skins, not so much Gen 3, but I'll watch both. I just think I'm more excited about the US version, 'cause I have this channel and don't have to watch streams of it online like I have to do with original Skins- and the actress who plays Tea is from New Jersey, so I obviously have to support my homegirl,  (and I hear our Sid is from Jersey, too, so I gotta be there for them  ) hahaHow 'bout you? __________________

Yah that's the reason I was thinking it would be interesting as well. I remember the first time I saw Skins and I was actually surprised by how Katie was NOT ok with Emily being gay. For some reason I figured a twin sister would be understanding about it because they would be pretty close.
I'll probably watch both. I'm a little bit more excited for the US version just because we kind of have an idea of what it's about. And the fact that it's on mtv which is, like you said, more convenient than trying to find it online. |

Which is sad. See what stereotypes do to people? They're so present and pressured in peoples lives that they think they just have to fit them.
 But, if it wasn't for Emily's desire to be independent, Katie wouldn't have found herself, as well. I mean, look at her style difference in S3 and S4- something tells me that, while Katie wanted to embrace her own taste in clothes, she'd blend things of Emily's as well- but in S4, everything about her clothes screams 'Katie', not 'Katie & Emily'. So Katie should thank Emily for giving her the chance to find herself, too, lol __________________

 Yah that seems logical. Katie wouldn't have been able to figure out herself without Emily pulling away to try to find herself. Perfect sense I don't think Emily will be getting that thank you any time soon lol. |

I agree w/ what you guys have said about Katie, and I'd also add that part of the reason she was probably clinging to Emily was b/c she knew that her friendships weren't real. Sure she was popular, and other pple wanted to be in her position, but there was probably nothing real (which is probably why she tried so hard w/ Effy, and kept hanging out w/ a group of pple she really didn't care for). But Emily was her sister, her twin, she had to be her friend/love her/always be around. Emily being gay, meant they were different, and meant there would be times they would have to separate, and Katie would be alone. Quote:
