Try to ignore the haters. I read a lot of ridiculous things about Kaya or Luke or other Skins actors and they are aware of it but they ignore it and so should we. And some people on YT just like to add hateful comments as if it's their job. Just ignore them.

Unfortunately haters are part every fandom. You will always come across somebody who will ruin things for everyone else. Don't get me wrong everyone is entitled to an opinion but there is a difference between expressing an opinion and just being downright nasty and hateful about an actor, ship or character.

It bothers me particularly in relation to comments about the actors or ships. I understand people not liking a character and I have probably posted some comments myself about that in the past. But I always try to express my opinions about a character in a respectful way and try not to upset fans. but nasty comments about the actors performance and particular ships are uncalled for. I think everyone should be allowed to ship whatever couple they like and not be asked to justify it. Ship and let ship I say. In the end what harm is doing to anyone. Some people like Freddie/Effy. Some people like Cook/Effy. The world would be a very boring place if we all liked the same things.

As for Kaya haters. That is something I don't understand. The girl is phenomenal in the role of Effy. Did they not see her season 3 episode. Flawless performance particularly that scene where she comes out of Freddie's shed. One of my favourite Skins moments ever. But as I said you will always see nasty people who obvously have nothing better to do than post hateful comments about real people.

What I don't understand is why they feel the need to do this. If you don't like a ship then just ignore fan threads and such. Nobody is forcing others to watch fanvids, read fanfic.If you don't like it just ignore it. It's what I do. If you don't like an actor then leave the people who do like them alone and refrain from posting horrible comments on the internet about them. As I said above everyone is entitled to their opinions but those opinions should be expressed in a way that is respectful to fans and doesn't insult the actors or shippers.

Haters gonna hate, Effy is still flawless as is Kaya. Cant wait to see her return one last time. Im hoping that she is involved in Gen1 and Gen2s episoddes so we can get 4 episodes of flawless Effy.

1.Kaya Scodelario’s new BBC drama, True Love, is due to be shown on the channel in June 2012. The air date was confirmed during a Q&A session with Dominic Savage following a special preview screening in Margate, where the show is set. True Love is a serial made through improvisation. Five universal stories explore love in the modern day and each is led by one of the following big names: David Tennant, Billie Piper, Jane Horrocks, Ashley Walters and David Morrissey.

Kaya is featured in episode two in the series.

2. Yesterday, Kaya was on set of boyfriend Elliott Tittensor’s new film, Spike Island, and she has tweeted about being allowed to make a cameo appearance in the film. Spike Island is about a rising indie band that travels to Spike Island, Cheshire, in May of 1990 to see The Stone Roses.





3. Kaya has sent in a short essay to the Telegraph, where she discuss why Mark Wahlberg’s role in 1997′s Boogie Nights is so unique.

"Trying to pitch a film based in the pornography industry must have been a huge risk for director Paul Thomas Anderson. It’s such a dark subject that people are scared to talk about it. I love films that are daring and that bring light to taboo subjects — Boogie Nights does this, but it’s neither overly depressing nor sad: it’s light-hearted and intelligent.

I really like character-based films dealing with people’s psyches and relationships. There are a lot of huge characters in that film who all share a similar amount of screen time, story and impact.

As an actress, I find it really interesting watching Mark Wahlberg’s character Dirk Diggler suddenly become a superstar. His head explodes when he’s very famous and he becomes desperate for all the attention. It’s difficult to watch because that’s a big fear for any actor — getting to a position where you’ve forgotten who you are as a person.


At the beginning of the film there’s an incredible three-minute-long sequence which pans through the disco and introduces each of the characters. The timing is perfect – I dread to think how many takes they had to do for that one shot. With that shot you’re automatically submerged into the film. You become part of the action and part of the film because you’re taken along with the camera.

This is probably my favourite of all Mark Wahlberg’s performances. It’s a unique role in his repertoire. I think it must have been a hard decision to take the role — being nude on screen is different for a man than a woman, of course, but it was still a brave choice.

It’s one of my favourite films of all time. I can watch it again and again and each time I spot something new that I hadn’t noticed the last ten hundred times I watched it."

I absolutely understand the need to express a certain opinion about a certain character. We all have characters we like, we all have characters we don't. And since it's fiction, I think it's safe to express our opinions about those characters no matter if this opinion is positive or negative because they are not real. But - the fans and actors ARE real. And that is something that shouldn't be forgotten. And something that is sadly being forgotten quite often. I understand not liking a ship or a character, I have plenty of the ones I dislike myself. It's ok to come up with reasons why you dislike them as long as you do it in a respectful manner and in a place where it's appropriate (because adding hateful comments under someone's vids or graphics is nothing like expressing an opinion in a respectful manner), but it's not ok and not mature to bash actors or fans just because you dislike a certain couple or character. Live and let live.

I saw hateful comments about pretty much every Skins actor and I would understand if they came from people who just genuinly didn't like or had issues with the acting and came up with constructive and respectfully expressed criticizm regarding some actors' work. But most of the comments I read were all from people who either dislike a character and so they bash on actor because of it or from those who just like to be rude without bringing up any valid reasons and plainly hating on actors for nothing. Those are the way most anti-Kaya comments are. That's the major reason why I prefer to ignore them. Kaya and Luke were aware of anti-comments about them and their acting, but they handled it very maturely which is admirable and only makes those haters look dull and bitter. Eveyone is indeed entitled to their opinion and I think criticizm can even help actors to become better and evolve, but senseless hate without foundation can do no good to anyone, first and foremost to those people who spread it.
