And they made each other grow as a better person. I like their relationship the best cause it was honest, always. It's a story about to equals.

They really respected each other and were equals. Which was great. And they didn't judge each other, but where there when they were needed.

Ever since their great scene in episode six (when Naomi turned him down and Cook uttered his immortal "there's got to be a good reason you won't **** me because you're, you know...clever) their relationship developed in a completely natural way. The respect that underlies their dynamic is really interesting, particularly when Cook initially came off as boorish and dismissive of women. They both changed a lot and if push came to shove, I think Naomi would call Cookie her best mate. I have a lot of problems with s4, but I like how their friendship was a constant throughout the season.

Only minor quibble- Naomi should have been there for Cook's sentencing. I know the show wanted to focus on the Musketer dynamic, but at this stage Naomi had become a very close friend. I'm not sure if anyone told her, but if she knew it was happening she would have been there. A small annoyance in what is, generally, a really good episode.

It was interesting that Cook did respect Naomi the way he did when he treated other characters so differently. He took her seriously and knew she had good reasons for her decisions. It was a nice thing to see. I think it may have been because he saw some of himself in her, and that he enjoyed her wit and knew how smart she was.

I wish she had been there too, and that we knew she was grateful for what he did.

I really wish we would have seen her at least acknowledge it later and thank him. But no dice.

Maybe Cook didn't want her to know that.

I see it as trying to protect her again by not telling her...

After ep 4 she felt extremely guilty and ready to confess

If she knew what Cook had done for her she would demand to be locked up immediately. She hates injustice after all
