this is the episode that made me fall in love with chris and established him as one of the best characters on the show.

My daughter said that Chris will be my favorite character. So far, I just feel sorry for him.

I was so sad that his mother just left like that. Okay…I'm a mom and no matter how bad things got, or how unhappy with myself I became, I would NEVER abandon my kids. I would keep myself together for them!!! She's a selfish BTCH!

I almost laughed at his utter stupidity, but again…I felt so sorry for him because of it. He seemed so clueless. I'm just surprised that Jal, with her voice of reason and seeming maturity, couldn't try to talk some sense into him.

Then the visit to his father's house. Well, that didn't end well…did it? Horrible…Horrible… Horrible! The only redeeming part of that scene was when Chris dropped the baby!!

The cemetery scene was heartbreaking. I knew that would be his brothers grave, but was shocked that Chris' mother had brought flowers…and recently because they were fresh. Chris saying that his mother was around because of that was a kick in the gut.

So…my daughter (Samantha) said that I would still love Chris later. I do emphasize with characters like him…as I do Cassie. So yes…I think I will love him.

I really don't like Tony at all.

I completely understand what you mean. I just can't wrap my mind around it. How a mother can leave her kid? It's so terrible and so wrong. And his father is not any better

He was so lost in that episode. You slowly realize that he's just a little scared kid inside and had nobody to take care of him. So sad.
You mean to talk some sense into him about the house?

The baby drop omg I loved the moment when he was sitting on the couch and looking very tense and ready to leave. Joe handled that scene so well, and then Chris/Jal hand holding! I was happy Jal decided to accompany him there.

Chris is a layered character, this is what's so great about him He's not just your average junkie/brainless party animal. He hid his problems by acting reckless and carefree, but it's also his way to live life, he never let it bring him down. He's kind and vulnerable and very loyal

Oh yeah, Tony's gonna grow on you(especially if you're gonna do a rewatch), it's hard to get into him the first time around

I totally see the scared kid. It was so obvious when he was walking around like a zombie, desperately hurt and alone. It kind of makes you just want to take care of him.
