Oh yes

I guess I was lucky because I didn't get attached to gen2 and gen3, so for me Skins is still quality

But when the shows don't change their cast...that's when it's hard to ignore bad seasons

Yeah because then it's just watching the same cast on the same sinking ship For years. At least skins did the merciful thing by bringing in fresh meat.

Same, even while generation two was still airing. I lost all faith after season three and it was only briefly revived during season five. It's a shame really, because scams was my favorite show for an embarrassingly long time.

It's still my fave show, cause I can just pretend s3-6 never happened!

I'm actually grateful they've changed the cast. That trick doesn't work with other shows.

The majority of characters just annoyed me and I didn't get attached to any of them.

OMG I didn't even notice that my voice-recognition program wrote scams instead of skins. Best unintentional slip ever.

It's fitting.

Also I think the reason a lot of people were turned off by the second generation is because by then the writers were latching on to the glamorous party aesthetic, and some people probably felt like it was superficial or at least more so than before.

A lot of people did love them, I know, but people who were obsessively loyal to only the first cast seem determined not to like any of the casts that followed

I think a lot of it was because by that point they felt so much younger than the original audience, and also in season five they really cut back on a lot of the gratuitous partying and drug use and focused on pretty mundane family issues

It felt like an American show. I love American shows, but it wasn't Skins anymore...

With all my frustration with gen2, it still had a skins vibe to it. Gen3 was different, completely different. I've binge watched, so it couldn't be the age problem either. I guess in my case we just didn't click
