I wanted to see more of Carter/Serena during the show's run. Then Nate & Serena both single at the end of the "current" stuff, with a sort of 1x18 ending. And then a moment (that would be clear that would lead somewhere) during the FF. I just felt that the two of them both needed to go off & do their own thing for some (or all) of that 5 years.

I really thought Carter matched well with Serena, and Blake/Seb had great chemistry, I just felt like all of them (minus Chuck) could benefit from being single. So N, you're a SN shipper, too? or a Scarter shipper? I ship both (as well as Serena/Ben and crackship Serena/Jack).

I just love Serena - always have, always will - so I guess I multiship her. Although, of the canon choices, if I had to pair her with someone "forever" post-show, it would be Nate.
Ben I liked in the flashbacks & not only because he disproved the idea that DHumps "fixed" Serena in S1 and/or was the first to really see her. But they made him too moustache-twirly in the beginning of S4 when he was painted as pulling the strings behind Juliet's vendetta. It was too whiplash-inducing when they hooked him with Serena (not at all for isolating reasons). Plus, the whole false accusation story was just dumb. Lily (as characterized up to that point) would use her money/influence and try to bend the rules but she's not going to heartlessly ruin someone's life (imho).

because i totally agree re: Ben, I loved him in the flashbacks, and I didn't mind him once he was out of jail, but I hear you on the twirly stacheness of the beginning. Plus, it was a trip for me to realize he was Olivia on Fringe's "twin" so to say.

Honestly, Lily has done some dumb stuff, so I put NOTHING past her.

Btw, even if Serena/Carter happened, I'd never expect him to be bffs with everyone, which I kinda enjoy.

^ I think for me that tension of SCarter would be the biggest appeal. Chuck would never like him. Blair would play nice because he's making S happy though and Nate would just be annoyed.

But overall, Id always ship SN over it

it would just be the best combo of annoyance.

Unfortunately, I don't think Nate/Penelope would make it to endgame as she'd probably spontaneously combust the first time they kissed.
