| Chuck Bass S&S #339: Hey, Chuck, don't make it bad. Take some spoilers and make them better... ![]() ![]() Season four will open with a radiant Serena and Blair enjoying their grand and romantic summer in Paris… until Chuck mysteriously arrives in town with a new girlfriend and a new identity. Blair swore off Chuck forever but will this changed man woo Blair into having a change of heart, or will Queen B set her sights on ruling Columbia University? Spoilers From Kristin Frederick: Gossip Girl. Give it up! Is there any hope for Chuck and Blair? I'm getting really depressed with what I've seen for the new season. I know you Chair fans have been in a funk since May, when Chuck the B******* did you know what with you know who (for shame!), but I finally have a ray of hope to offer...I can tell you exclusively that Chuck and Blair will have, um, relations, of the bom-chicka-bow-wow kind during the upcoming season. At least, that's what my sources are saying. Whether they will actually get back together, well…that I cannot say, sorry. But still, that's a pretty major reason to keep tuning in, right? Ryan in New York: Gossip Girl, please! What is up with Chuck and Blair? And when will we know why Juliet is tormenting Serena? So much hate to spew, so little time...Chuck and Blair are all about hate sex for the next little while. Lots of hate sex, so put the kiddies to bed, y'all! As for Juliet, we'll learn that her brother is connected to Serena's past (like, past, as in before we even met her on the show). He got thoroughly screwed over by Team Van Der Woodsen (that's my understanding anyway), and Juliet is helping her brother seek revenge. Tammy: Please give us some Chair spoilers for the second half of the season! Well, file this under bad news. Jessica Szohr tells us someone new is coming to Gossip Girl…again. "We have another guest star coming on, which is amazing," she says. "She starts to date Chuck Bass, which is exciting because everyone always wants Chuck and Blair together. This someone throws a little loop in their relationship—or throws everyone, actually." Another loop for Chuck and Blair? How do we feel about this, Chairsters? ~ ~ ~ Spoilers from Ausiello Question: Any chance of Blair and Chuck getting back together on Gossip Girl? —Savanna Ausiello: There’s a pretty good chance of it happening in the next couple weeks, but I have to warn you: It won’t be pretty. | theoretical girl: I actually agree with you about CB's dialogue being a little ridiculous at times in 4.07 - 4.09. I just think that was the case of the writers trying too hard rather than just being like, "We don't like CB anymore. Let's give them crappy dialogue and give DB awesome dialogue!" Not that I know what the awesome DB dialogue was, really, but I've always thought the GG writers were better at the banter than at the emotion. __________________ Come back when you can Let go, you'll understand You've done nothing at all to make me love you less So come back when you can... .: Chuck & Blair :. ETA: I think the writers were telling us 'this is still the story that we are writing and going with, but we are going to mess things up for some time now' __________________ you'll love me at once, | |||

I don't think the DB dialogue was awesome but it was definitely better than anything I've seen them give CB since 4.02. I mean they actually had a conversation. When was the last time we saw long pieces of dialogue between Chuck and Blair? I'm just starting to forget why CB are so great together because all the writers have been focused on for a long while is their chemistry and drama. eta: and I totally agree. The writers are way better with banter than emotion. It's the actors which saves them when it comes to emotion.

If anything, they might be going by that notion that you can learn more about yourself from strangers than from your closest friends. It's easier for them to write the conversational pieces with DB since barely anything about their dynamic has been explored yet. __________________ Come back when you can Let go, you'll understand You've done nothing at all to make me love you less So come back when you can... .: Chuck & Blair :. I would love CB to have a long conversation and who knows maybe we'll get one...'in the future' __________________ you'll love me at once,

| As I said in the other thread, I think Stephanie wants people to be invested in DB for the time they are around and that's why she personally wrote the episode that launches their little arc But she also wanted people invested in Chuck/Eva, Nate/Blair 2.0, Nate/Serena, etc She sold all those couples both verbally and with direction and production. So I don't think it signals anything about the longevity of DB as a couple. IMO, the little string of CB episodes from 4x7 to 4x9 really don't fit very well with the overall direction of the writing for Chuck and Blair this season which is more about what Ed spoiled: CB needing to grow as individuals on their own before reuniting. I think that's the reason some of it felt too light or like filler. That's because, it kind of was filler. In contrast, the train station scene fit with this direction much better. It hinted at Chuck's redemption as well as Blair finding the strength to put her personal happiness first. Giving CB fans this little gift of episodes probably backfired to a degree because I think it made some people assume Chuck would never be redeemed and Blair would always take him back, no questions asked. | |||

And while I see the backlash of it, Im rather grateful because I love CB interaction. But I agree that it didnt fit, except to show us they do love each other and then in 4.09 that they are meant to find their way back to each other. And I totally agree with the SS thought process of people getting invested. She does go for that but in essence it means nothing. I mean its not completely delusional, I think she knows its going no where but its trying to get people to see the story through her eyes of where they are going right now. It doesnt work though, people want what they want. __________________ And I have loved you since

| I just feel like the execution of these "side stories" never really does what it should. Like, I have yet to see the point of any of Serena's guest star relationships, lol. I don't even understand what they were doing with NS/DV last season at this point! __________________ Come back when you can Let go, you'll understand You've done nothing at all to make me love you less So come back when you can... .: Chuck & Blair :.
