Yeah, I just don't want it to continue to be a one-sided relationship and it definitely has thus far. Chuck lets Nate walk all over him and openly forgives him even though Nate never apologizes for his actions to C (or anyone for that matter), nor has ever really helped Chuck out. I just wish they wouldn't gloss over all the crap Nate has done. it really makes me dislike his character or want him around Chuck at all

I will give CN another chance as long as some of they issues are sorted out because i really can handle nate being a bad friend for another season. So when Blair goes over to visit chuck, nate will be there.... great

I think Nate and Serena are always going to be the two characters who get justified for every crappy thing that they do... we have to just expect it, i guess.

ITA! I liken CN to BS in terms of friendship. They are, at the heart of it, best friends, in spite of all the crappy things they do to each other. But at least BS will have it out and let the other know why they are mad. Nate's motivation or POV is rarely given and that's frustrating. If Chuck and Nate threw fisticuffs and aired all that bugs them, I could totally buy them patching up their friendship. I just see it as Chuck being a waaaaay better friend to Nate though.

I agree with you, though, that NS will always be the saintly characters

whereas BC get crucified for their wrongdoings. YMMV.

Like you, I liken CN to BS, but even though BS fight it out and let each other know what's up, it usually ends up being BLAIR who is the "bad one," and in the CN relationship, Chuck will always come out looking like the "bad one." Either that, or they just mutually decide to forget about it, and usually, that is when N or S would come out looking like the jerk. In my opinion - yeah, Chuck and Blair take the scheming too far sometimes, but that's only sometimes, and usually their scheming has a good motive behind it. They're usually doing it to protect their family or their friends. At least they KNOW that they do something wrong when they do, though. NS act like it's everyone else's fault when they do something bad. I feel like they could murder someone, and somehow it would be justified as "oh, it was the inventor of that gun 100 years ago's fault."

It's like when Serena got with Gabriel...my FIRST thought was..."dude...you totally just STOLE your FRIEND'S boyfriend........how is no one throwing that in your face right now?" but somehow she ended up being the victim in the end because she took it upon herself to steal a friend's bf, and get mixed up w/ some dude she JUST met. Somehow CB were bad for trying to prevent it...

Nate.......they didn't even explain his reasoning for taking Blair out from under Chuck's nose last season, and I don't think that they will. The point is..he came out smelling like roses. Somehow Chuck was bad for wanting her still..

This season is probably not going to be any different. ....Sorry for writing a book, lol

I thought though with him letting her go at the bar and then making a perfect Prom for her that it didn't feel like he was bad for wanting her.. it was more him wanting her happy...

And as for the NB thing.. nate has always felt more intitled to have blair than chuck which doesn't make any sense considering he would tell chuck constantly that CB were made for each other..

I actually liked the way CB got together.. it wasn't cheating and it was a solid decision by blair not to be with nate anymore and to go to chuck and tell him again that she loved him...

I truly believe DV is the only friendship that remains somewhat normal on this show. (And that's why I don't want them to ever go beyond that...I just don't think it would be as good). Oh Gossip Girl. You tug my heart strings yet I keep coming back to you with hope.

I'm saying that when Nate was with Blair, he tried to make it seem like Chuck was the bad guy for still wanting her when he KNEW that Chuck loved her the whole time. I liked the way CB got together too. I'm not knocking that. I'm knocking the way that SN are always trying to look like the good guys
