I've seen a few other celeb boards have this and I'd thought we could try it here. ![]() This is a great way to get out frustrations regarding "opinions" of Emily or Brennan or BB or you're own personal issues with storylines on the show or how Brennan's character is treated in general. This is NOT a place to bash or mock specific fans for their opinions you don't agree with or the writers of the show. It's merely a place to blow off some steam in a peaceful environment.

| Elite Fan ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | If another person/reviewer/etc. says BB should be kept apart for much longer because of the stupid Moonlighting curse.. I'm GONNA LOSE IT!!!!!!! It was ONE show on over 20 freaking years ago and it wasn't even because they got together that killed the show but because of behind the scenes drama and bad writing. GET OVER IT. Tell me what show in the last 10 years that has failed because a ship got together? Because there are NONE. If anything all we hear is complaint after complaint about how certain ships were dragged out till the end and sloppily thrown together at the last second and most people were too tired or numb or frustrated to care. (Mulder/Scully, Harm/Mac, Ross/Rachel, etc)Luke/Lorelai from Gilmore Girls were together for a whole entire season, (which is my fav season of the series by the way) before the show even started going downhill.(due to ASP leaving the show and butchering it as her parting gift) So, it's very possible to get a couple together and keep the show just as good if not better than it was before. So, it's not the couple actually getting together that make people stop watching. The problem isn't the couple or the audience responding badly to the couple. It's bad writing (or behind the scenes problems) or a combination of both. The Office is another great example. Sure, Jim/Pam aren't the center of the show like with Bones/BB but they were still the main couple of the show and it would still would have been a huge risk to put them REALLY together after dragging it out for three seasons. And the show is still around, is it not??? The Moonlighting curse is nothing but a lie writers like to hide behind because they are way too lazy to think of creative ways to write a couple and keep it interesting. This is reinforced over and over again, to everyone.. and people start to think the only kind of couple we can have on a show and keep it successful is a ship revolving around 'ust'. Dangling it but never really fully giving it.. until most of the time...it's too late and way past the point. It's not the couple. It's not the audience. It's these stupid writers/people who fool people into believing a stupid myth that a show will fail if there's no 'ust'. And I can't stand it. Okay.. rant OVER!!!! Had to get that out. ![]() | |||

| Great idea for a thread .And I so agree about the Moonlighting curse ! I am so sick and tired about people citing this as a reason to keep B/B apart. And those opinions sure seem to pop up en masse lately.I can speak from experience and I am afraid of becoming tired of doing the dance year after year but not progressing. I watched the X-Files from the beginning and I so wanted Mulder and Scully to get together after season 4 or 5. Instead they kept them apart. When they finally got together I kind of didn't care anymore. I don't want that to happen to Bones. __________________ "Temperance Brennan, you're in love with her. | Okay, I wasn't alive when Moonlighting aired, so, obviously, I know little about it, but they were private detectives, right... which means there wouldn't have been any conflict in them getting together if they wanted. They were partners by choice, not assignment, so, unlike with Booth and Brennan, there would be no FBI breathing down their necks; their romantic involvement would not break any rules and put their careers in jeopardy, right? Difference number two: as far as I'm aware, neither character on Moonlighting had as deep of emotional issues as Brennan does. Her feelings of abandonment and her opinions upon love, marriage, and relationships is enough alone to keep B/B entertaining for several years. Toss in Booth's issues as well and you have smorgasbord of conflict. Difference number three: I'm pretty sure there was no Parker on Moonlighting, that neither of them had a child with another former partner. A child automatically creates drama, especially when they're forced to adjust to one of their parents dating someone else. Plus, you'd have the whole issue of Rebecca's feelings upon the fact as well. I could continue this, but, really, do I need to at this point? Yeah, I didn't think so. __________________ Seventeen Minutes in Heaven Feeling discontent and unsatisfied in her relationship, Buffy seeks out ways to improve her love life only to realize that she wasn't the only one angling for a change when it came to her personal attachments. | I totally agree with you girls!! ![]() I'm done withe the Moonlighting "curse".. I don't care about it.. if Booth & Brennan are together as a couple I'll be SO HAPPY!!! I don't want this to be a Mulder & Scully or Har & Mac torture.. ![]() ![]() __________________ Hart Hanson about the Comic Con 2009: "When Emily walked out, the noise in the room was just incredible." | |||

| What I find funny is that networks court the 18-49 demographic, but a good majority of that age group wasn't alive or old enough to watch Moonlighting when it was on. Talk about an outdated reference point. __________________ Seventeen Minutes in Heaven Feeling discontent and unsatisfied in her relationship, Buffy seeks out ways to improve her love life only to realize that she wasn't the only one angling for a change when it came to her personal attachments. Oh why haven't they?.... because there is none, LOL. | |||

| LOL. That's a good point Shauna! I completely agree with you. Luke/Lorelai getting together was amazing and season 5 is my second favorite season and that's only because of Rory pissing me off. I would love it if BB got together as soon as possible but I want it to be in the right way. __________________ There are some things like love | |||

See the Moonlighting curse will never die with interviewers like this in the world: Dish Of Salt | Access Hollywood - Celebrity News, Photos & Videos I HATE this interview so much. The interview was SO annoying with her 'bb shouldn't get together' stance. She was so obnoxious about it. Acting like her opinion was fact. And if one more person says fans only 'think' they want to see them together, grrrr. Fans are actually intelligent individuals capable of knowing what they want. Oh... but I guess we're all a bunch of fickle idiots. ![]()

| Heh. I saw everyone complaining about and I didn't even want to watch it so I didn't. Ugh, I know it annoys me too. I want BB together! I just want them to be together in the right way. I want Brennan to know it's serious and I want her to be willing to make the relationship work. That is not why I don't mind the waiting for now. Good things take time! __________________ There are some things like love | |||
