I think season two had some problems because the networks kept adding more episodes. It went from 22 to 25 which is what I think caused the interruption in the flow of the storylines. It would be great if the network gave them a set number of episodes and stuck with it. Season one lost four episodes and season two had three more episodes added on, so the writers either had to struggle to pare down their planned storylines or beef them up. I think 22 episodes would be perfect number for Gossip Girl.

22 is definitely the great number I always thought 22 was what you got anyway but then the CW does like to add and detract like mad.

They do need to develop SLs for Serena that have a basis all through the season but then they need to do that with everyone - it's the chopping and three SL arcs that kind of ruin it. I think the best TV shows know where they're going from the beginning to the end in one go - there's always something there that you're waiting to see. A bit like CB for S2. They were the only thing I can think of that people were actually following through the season.

20 would be more than enough for me. Character development, consistency in the SLs, that's all I want.

I'm greedy when it comes to potential S time though I don't want to cut it short.

Yes, but only if it's worth it.

My wishlist for S3.....

First off better storylines for Serena! That's a must. I want to see more of the VDW's interacting and showing us their family unit. No more lame guest stars for Serena that are major major fail!

I want to see Dan and Serena become friends, real friends - which can last all season and then in the finale or beginning of the next season (if we have one that is) get back together with no more stupid break-ups or for the most ridiculous reasons.

I want to see Lily actually being a mother to her kids!

S2 - Really disappointing as an S fan. I saw very little growth with her character. I hope the writers have something up their sleeve for S this year!

I'm glad I'm not the only one, she seems really bad in that department.

Skins has proven that even 9 or 10 episodes can make for a really good season. it's obvious that the writers have a plan and know what they're doing. GG should take a hint there.

and I agree about Lily, too. I want more Lily/Serena/Eric in general.

S3 of Skins was amazing it shows that you don't have to have loads of side plots to still make a good season.

All I want is character development. I'm tired of the Serena is stupid storylines.

That is all

Word to that G. I hate that they love to make her look like a moron. Because 2x22 and 2x23 did just that. She's not an idiot, and they need to stop writing her as such.

I like this. They need to rebuild. They started dating when they first met. It would be nice to see them become really good friends and then get back together later. Good call.
