Kristen: Shady Carter is going to be hooking up with Serena! Yes, Serena van der Woodsen and Carter Baizen are going to try to make a go of it in season three of Gossip Girl. Forgive us if we're not optimistic about their long-term prospects.

MICKEY: Here's what Blake Lively told us about Serena's plans in the wake of being slapped with that paternal jaw-dropper. "She's thrown for this huge loop," she says. "There are a lot of things she's going to find out about her mother and about her background." In other words, Serena will not be heading to Providence in the fall... but she might not be in New York either.

Are Gossip Girl's Serena and Nate going to hook up anytime soon? — Jennifer
MICKEY: Methinks someone — cough, Jennifer, cough — is getting a bit stalkery with this question. At least initially, the answer is (still) no, as Serena and Nate will both be getting BIZ-AY with new love interests in the fall: S. will be courted by a prince among men, while Nate will be busy wooing this lady. (In case you were wondering, JoAnna Garcia will be busy asking herself, "I got canceled for this?")

Sorry, Hilary Duff haters, but Duff joins the Gossip Girl cast as movie star Olivia, and she'll be getting her movie-star cooties on the entire cast, not just Vanessa and Dan. Also on Gossip Girl this season, Chuck and Blair are totally getting married and having a million babies. (OK, not that, but they are staying tight. Yay!) And believe it or not, the show really is trending away from "Dan and Serena are the one true pairing of Gossip Girl." Certainly, that arc might turn back sometime in the future, but for now the show is trying to establish their separate identities, apart from their on-again, off-again shenanigans. Stan says that when his character Carter Baizen’s background is revealed, it will stir up some trouble among the Upper East Siders — and especially Lively’s Serena van der Woodsen.

Sofia >> as for what you said on the last thread, yeah it would be detrimental to Serena's SL if NS were to happen so soon after Carter. After all, CaS is more than just some fling & if they ever parted ways (which I do NOT want to happen

) she should have some time to recover from losing Carter... we should petition the writers to keep Carter. hehe

I think it would Marian. It has been girl after girl for Nate. And as you say CaS seems to be more than just a fling; so it would look so rushed and so wrong. From the pictures we're having it looks like they're reconnecting after a season where they must have forgotten each other's names

Yeah, I was expecting more NS friendship after 2x01 premiere... but we hardly got anything. I miss NS as friends. Expecting to see that friends angle, just as long as it doesn't get in the way of CaS.

Word! It would seem rushed. CaS is better than that. Plus, I'd hate to see N with Serena after his series of girls. He needs to transition first or something. Like being just friends first or stay single for a while...

It's after midnight here but how about 'It's driving us wild to see more of season 3 Serena' or something like that. Maybe something to do with Lady Gaga's song Paparazzi because of all paps taking her pics. Sorry if I'm of no help.

As for N/S, now is not a good time. There is too much CaS love.

exactly, they are reconnecting..and I dont think there's any problem with it. they dont look romantic at all, as of now, so I'm really not worried about the writers rushing into SN.

any word if they really were filming last night, though? I assume we should have gotten pictures if so, no?

yeah, the pics from filming didn't look romantic at all. just sort of hanging out, like they did at the end of S1. i'd like that. they were so in tune w/ each other's tells/reactions that you know they're really close as friends.

NS as friends & co-conspirators were fun.
