| I don't know why, but I don't think DS is endgame. I don't mean it pejoratively but DS is too predictable and I think GG is supposed to be NOT predictable. There are many literary & cinematic parallels (from Shakespeare, from Almodavor) etc. so it's incredibly brilliant. Not pat and sugary. I think the show is edgy, racy and wants to show us that life is b&tch. I find it hard to accept there will be some sort of reverse Cinderella/fairytale ending. The show is a commentary about class and society, morals and values. But then, again I am finding it hard to predict some things. I find it pretty deep actually. Aha I just read this, and it kind of backs up what I am saying: If her mama (Lily) secretly likes poor guys with liberal superiority complexes while serial-monogamifying (marrying) with the uber-rich, chances are that she's (Serena's) going to secretly like poor guys with liberal superiority complexes while serial-monogamifying with the uber-rich.
