As the summer is drawing to a close, Blair (Leighton Meester) and Chuck (Ed Westwick) are madly in love and adjusting to their new “in a relationship” status, breaking all traditional rules of dating as would be expected. Serena (Blake Lively) returns from her European adventure with many secrets to hide and a complicated relationship with Carter Baizen (guest star Sebastian Stan). Nate (Chace Crawford) returns from his travels with a mysterious brunette, Bree Buckley (guest star JoAnna Garcia) in tow. Rufus (Matthew Settle), Dan (Penn Badgley) and Jenny (Taylor Momsen) spent the summer in the Hamptons, adjusting to the van der Woodsen’s glamorous lifestyle surprisingly faster than any of them expected. Jessica Szohr also stars.

Fan-freaking-tastic. This episode holds one of Blake's most well acted scenes. Her watery eyes in the woods darn near broke my heart, and her chemistry with Seb was outstanding. Everything in this episode was perfect in terms of Serena, and I'm completely in love with Carter/Serena, alot more than I should be

^^Word! I like much of the episode, it was better than I thought it'd be. CB were cute, SCa were fire! V/scott and Nate/Bree were nice as well. it was a good couples episode, even if it felt a bit too segmented. I loved the polo thing b/c it brought everyone together. I'd like more S/B scenes, B being worried for what S has been up to was nice.

Loved all Serena scenes. She's great, and she's baaaack..

First, I thought that orange dress was just amazing on Blake. She looked like a goddess.

Second, Serena/Carter was everything I expected and more. They're just so great. And yummy. They had some sparks. The last relationship Serena had sparks with was Dan and that was in the pre-strike episodes.

As for the rest, meh. I pretty much found her S/L the most interesting and engaging. I mean CB's last scene was cute, but the role playing was just creepy (even if they're not your ~normal~ couple).

Nate/Bree was okay. Not as bad as I expected it to be. Dan was cool. Jenny and Eric were just background, so really there's nothing there to really discuss. I loved that they covered for Serena.

And of course, I love my S/B relationship. Hee. They're just cuties and I loved that she's always there prepared to stand by Serena's side. LOVE.

Loved the Serena/Carter storyline. I was trying to keep my hopes down before this episode (which was quite hard) but I think it went well. The chemistry between the two skyrocketed. You could feel the emotion.

Am interested to see how they're going to keep the Dad SL going. It made sense that she went a bit crazy when her father remained elusive from her.

It was good to have that one proper S/B scene but there needs to more. They have the most important friendship on the show and it needs to be seen.

C/B were cute and I thought it was fitting that they would be playing so many games to keep their relationship fresh.

I felt bleh about the Nate/Bree thing. Scott was interesting and I particularly liked his scene with Rufus.

Loved both Serena and Blair's outfits at the polo. Two very different looks that went well with their personalites.

ITA!!! Serena's definitely the one to watch, especially with Carter giving chase.

I mean, CB were still their usual kick-ass selves, but CaS were totally perfect. There's just something that screams EPIC when they're together. And their lines... Squeeee!

Wherever the writers take them, I just hope it's gonna be a long ride. Can't get enough of CaS! They deserve to be a long-running relationship with the chemistry & storyline they brought to the show.
