ELVIS AND ANNABELLE (2007)

Plot:

In "Elvis and Anabelle," every terrible tragedy brings about something equally miraculous. Groomed by her overly ambitious mother (Mary Steenburgen), Anabelle (Blake Lively) is on the road to winning the Miss Texas Rose tiara when she dies tragically during a pageant. Her death lands her on the embalming table of Elvis, an embittered young man whose sense of family duty and love for his ailing father (Joe Mantegna) keep him from following his dreams. When Anabelle is miraculously resurrected on Elvis' embalming table, the two unexpectedly connect and sparks fly. With the help of each other and Elvis' father, they discover love, freedom and happiness as the real world and their own demons threaten to force them apart

All the reviews I've read are excellent. What are they waiting for? It could do well in the indie circuit.

Somebody should just take a risk....cause really, I think this movie will do well. Better than the romantic comedies and horror films they keep releasing.

true story.

the movie seems to be better than a lot of some "big" movies that are out there atm.
and all the reviews & even awards tell a lot, they really should take "the risk" now.

true that! Blake gets more & more popular with every day. GG has brought the attention to her, and clearly to that movie. it just doesnt make sense to me, that they should waste the perfect oppurtunity of using Blake's popularity right now. its the perfect time, if you ask me.

I agree. Plus lets not forget about the anticipation surrounding SOTTP 2 as well. That movie has a very good audience as well. TPTB should be crazy not to want to attract them as well.

Blake won breakout performance at the Newport Film Festival

Also an award for Joe Mantegna and the film won outstanding achievement in filmmaking.

I`m especially happy that Blake won the award for breakout performance.

These awards will only give more buzz to the movie and force whichever studio gets it to release it in theaters.
