Something about this episode seemed off to me. I just feel like it could have been so much better after last week.
One thing that confused me was why WIll and Kevin were carring the coffin with everyone else. I love them both, but did they ever meet Hailey, and i never got the vibe that Hotch was friends with them... But oh well. I'm glad that HOtch is coming back... the only part of him stepping down that i enjoyed, was how morgan kinda split the team up into partners. JJ and Reid were always going off or working together, and Hotch and Emily. I kinda hope that continues. __________________

I thought the episode was pretty good! I really loved how they focused on Hotch's grief and how Strauss gave him the option of retiring. It's very realistic. I'm glad they were all there for him.
The case was creepy and I'm glad they caught the dude. He was psychotic. Loved seeing JJ/Reid working together and Morgan calling Garcia "baby girl". There needs to be more stuff with them though. I loved Hotch as the team leader, but I think Morgan is doing a great job. Jack is just the cutest little boy ever! I'm surprised there's a new episode next week since we're getting so close to the holidays, but I think it's cool! __________________

Good episode, as always. I do think it's too soon--realistically--for Hotch to realize he wants to return to the BAU, although I'm glad he's returning.
I was suspicious of Strauss offering Hotchner early retirement; she's been trying to get rid of Hotch for years--hope she was sincere and that there wasn't a part of her just using this horrible tragedy to kick Hotch out. She wouldn't be that cruel, would she? Great to hear Morgan call Penelope "baby girl" again. Also, it always make me smile when everyone is willing to do whatever it takes to make sure the team's successful. Morgan's willingness to step up or down--whatever Hotch needed--was touching. Glad to see Reid/Gubler walking, albeit with cane. |

I can see Hotch needing something routine that he could control after a tragedy like this. It will be interesting to see how the dynamic is going to play out now. Can't wait for the new ep.
And it just killed me that the third victim, the one who was playing along, was murdered. After all that she did to survive, and she was so close for a real chance of getting free, to get caught by bad timing and have the boyfriend come home...just awful for both of them. |

I tried to concentrate on the episode as a whole but every time Jack was not on screen I kept hoping he would appear, and when he was I couldn't help but aww-ing because he's THE CUTEST KID IN THE WORLD! Seriously, I'm not at all the motherly kind, but Jack has totally made me consider having kids one day On a random note, I loved Reid's expression when Rossi said Erica was stabbed 17 times in the face. He flinched/frowned, and as I said, it's a random thing to comment but I thought it was very organic.

Watching this ep now , first ep after Haley murder . I didn't remember this one. Now seeing chief Strauss offering Aaron retirement his look and reaction told us he wasn't ready to quit .
seeing Jack who doesn't fully understand why his mom is gone is sad . Morgan is in charge , unsub living out his fantasy of relationship with wealthy women.. __________________

What annoyed me about this episode something smal they did mention it in the episode was there was a case and they got called in even thought they had taken time off for a funeral .. Ok they have other agents (I wonder how many and what they are like?) but that was tight __________________
