the ep was very good... with a plot like this they did it very well... reminded me of the mall ep... like you see the story and you're all wow at the end cause you think of how boring it could have been, or at least i do... lol, thats just what is so awesome about cm though
i appreciated the ending especially with reid there watching and ultimately failing... thats just what happens in real life when you have a job like that and i think it can be used as a tool for reid in the future... MGG is so thin though and pretty... i kind of lol'd when he walked into the school holding his gun i just can't take certain people seriously at times hearing that phone call was disturbing... and the twist with the father was good... its like you think it will go one way and then bam! it goes another... i totally pegged one of the fathers as the killer in the beginning... but i was wrong... but they played umbrella... i HATE that song, seriously the only thing that left me confused was the very ending with them meeting the new father and daughter... all i kept thinking was the other chick could wind up dead too, lol... plus it shows that people can get away with murder... jack was a bad guy... he did a lot of crappy things to a lot of people or at least thats what the marshall made me believe when he did the whole karma bit... and yet because he testifies, he is free even after he himself committed murder... what a broken system |

I think the ending was to show how again just because he was in Witness Protection, they were allowed to get away with murder and it seems like it could repeat itself with the new family they met. The system is definitely broken. __________________

Awesome episode!
I can't wait for the new one, even though I think it's the last one that was filmed before the strike started. __________________

That's one of the things that I really love about this show. It's as realistic as they can be considering it's a tv show. Not everyone can be saved and they don't always catch the bad guy. It sucks but that's the world that we live in. |

Great episode
The phone bit was disturbing. Katie's parents listening to their daughter begs for help was heartbreaking. I felt bad for Reid, cause he thinks he failed, but I think it was more realistic that way. Agents do fail sometimes and in that particular case, I don't see how the unsub wouldn't end up being killed. For a moment I almost believe Reid would persuade Jack and then... "tomorrow!". Unsub dead. __________________

Another good episode of CM. They never fail to deliver. I think we may see the girl again. Just a guess I suppose but she is Rossi's (JM's) daughter in RL plus she is messed up on the show. I think that would make for a great episode.

Just finished watching the episode, and wow.
Loved when they found out Jack was in Witness Protection, and when Hotch told Reid to be careful. Very intense and well written- and MAN, I never thought I'd hear Umbrella playing on CM I wasn't surprised when Jack shot the guy because from the moment Hotch said "last house on the left" I figured the episode was some sort of reference to the movie (The Last House on the Left). It's a (disturbingly violent) film from the 70s, about two friends who get abducted by a gang of rapists/murderers and the gang ends up seeking refuge on the house of the parents of one of the girls - and the parents get their revenge. So yeah, if the episode was indeed "inspired" by the movie, it makes sense that Jack shot that guy. I felt extremely bad for Reid, though, you could see how shocked and disappointed he was when Jack went for the "easy" way out. Overall, great episode, as usual __________________

PS: Did you hear that they're remaking it? When will Hollywood ever learn! __________________

I think it was, consider how violent Katie's death was. There were a lot of similarities, actually, so we can only assume the episode indeed was inspired, somehow, by the movie.
I didn't know they were remaking it! EW. I'm sure they'll butcher the movie, in order to get the lowest rating they can, which sucks. But oh well. It's not like I'm gonna watch it - most likely it won't be as disturbing as the original but seeing the original once was more than enough for me. I'll be scarred for life thanks to it __________________

It's been a long time since I've seen the original, but my dad was a hardcore horror fan and that was passed down to me and my sister. Although it's sad how much Hollywood tends to ruin the horror genre. So very sad.

It's been a very long time since I've seen it, but some scenes are crystal clear in my mind. The movie is so raw and violent, and there's the documentary feel to it in some parts, which makes it all painfully real. Honestly, I don't think I could bring myself to watch it again. If they decide to go for the highest rating, the remake will probably explore the torture-porn to levels beyond control.
I wish the movies (about such subjects) these days were more like Criminal Minds. Sure they could be more visual, since CM can't, but the fact that CM actually leaves a lot to our imagination and is filled with character development makes me feel much more involved with the story, in general. Today, you watch a "horror" movie and you end up rooting for the killer, since the victims are always so dumb and unlikeable. There's no character depth to any of them, and it makes hard for us to connect. And hey, that's so cool your dad was hardcore horror fan! My dad is all about Western movies, I can't stand them __________________

Yeah, I hate when they remake movies, but there are exceptions.
Anyway, I loved this week's CM! __________________
