I have been going to the same place on vacation since I was born, almost every summer besides a few summers when I was too busy with work and junk. It is just Northern Minnesota, nowhere cool and exotic. But it involves a lake and seeing my Grandpa so that makes me happy

I had to basically sit on my suitcase to make it shut I am a overpacker too.

LOve love love visiting my grandparents. More so since they live pretty much on the river and I pretty much grew up down there. They've been down there full time for about 15ish years. But before that it was a summer/weekend house for everyone. Even lived there for a year or 2 when I was real little.

I lived with grandparents from mom's side from birth to like 3 years old, so they had a part in raising me. They told me I didn't even recognize my parents when they picked me up from the airport going to Canada. I called my mom "aunt" because my mom is a twin.

I only have my grandmother from my mom's side now. And she lives next door. I love spending time with her. And she absolutely is the best cook

Both of my mom parents are still alive and that's who I refer to when I talk about grandparents. I haven't spoken to my dad's parents in years. I don't even think he really talks to them. But it's whatever. They've never really had a lot to do with us. I barely knew them until I was 10 or 11. They lived in OH. Of course we got a birthday card with money every year and Christmas presents. But until they moved down here I had seen them maybe twice in my life. And even after they moved down here, we noticed the difference between us and my cousins on that side. My dad sister moved here from SC about the same time and my other cousins in OH would come and stay a bit in the summer. They would go and take them to do all kinds of things and buy them things. Us? Not much.

Aw. But I totally understand when you say that the only people you consider as grandparents are the ones from your mother's side. You probably have lots of moments shared with them.

It was great. Quite simple but pretty nice. I went to have lunch with my parents and family and then I had a night out and some drinks with a group of close friends. Nothing big. Just trying to enjoy the moment all together oh and lots of cake

I just want to sleep. Only slept maybe 2 hours. Now I need to get ready for some emotional family stuff and then back to work at midnight. I should be able to fit a 2 hour nap in there somewhere.

Counting down until I'm off and can actually sleep. It just feels different from sleeping the night than sleeping during the day. Or it could be just sleeping knowing I have to go to work.

Sorry I haven't been around here much. I've been busy posting on the 2 new forums I voted for that we got! And may have gotten into Tumblr and watching fanvids.

I have so much to do with weekend. Tomorrow I have a bridal shower at 11 and then around 2 or so my little brother's birthday. Sunday me and my bf are suppose to go to an amusement park.
