That song (Choctaw County Affair) makes me have old-school country song feelings. Perhaps because I know (and enjoy) some older songs with similar feelings to it. My like/love for it is hit and miss, there are far more amazing songs on the album. For me it is just more in good fun without showing off her talent so much?

Do you have a link of a live performance of that song?
I admit I wasn't a huge fan of 'Smoke Break' when I first heard it but now its probably one of my favourites from the album, depending on my mood. Because it didn't capture me I didn't pay enough attention to when the new album came out but I'm glad that I did buy it as there's a lot of amazing songs on it  __________________

Heartbeat and Smoke Break are really good, and so is Church Bells. Even Dirty Laundry. lol

I think there's a lot of fun songs on this album. Not necessarily feeling & emotion songs. They tell stories, which I guess is what the title says they do

I love that she has an album like that. I find most country music do have such a deep meaning. Not just words to a catchy theme/rhythm if that makes sense. lol
