Writers: Pen or Keyboard?
Pen for me, although I do admit that the keyboard allows you a faster flow for your ideas, so come on in!

I prefer writing by hand but I agree that if I'm typing I find I can do a lot more and for some reason I'm not so highly critical of my own work.

I write it out, and then type it.

Typing. Whevever I type I don't feel afraid to mess it up, and all my ideas collocate and I can rearrange sentences etc. I do plan on paper though and find my general plot ideas and such come to me better that way.

Sometimes, I use pen and paper to write notes and free write, but when I am actually writing the story, I only use my computer. Oddly, I've found that since I got a computer, I don't tend to give up on stories so easily. I don't know exactly why that is- probably a ton of reasons.

I like both but I prefer the keyboard. I have written stories and poems by hand and ended up typing them on the computer when I finished them. But I much prefer the keyboard to the pen! It's quicker!

Pen If I could handwrite my essays, I would!! As it is I write everything first, then type it, print it out, and edit it by hand, then type in the edits. I can't stare at a computer screen and think logically the way I can with paper As for being creative, pen and paper win hands down

If I'm writing a story, I use keyboard. Partly because my handwriting is so bad, but also because I feel like I can rearrange things more easily when I'm typing. Plus, I type faster than I write things out, so I can get my thougths down more quickly when I type. If I'm writing a poem though, I usually write it out. Maybe it's because my poetry is less structured then my fiction. Whatever, that's just me.

Keyboard. I have arthritis in my hands and wrists so it gets painful if I write for a long time. I've always been much faster at the keyboard anyway, and I can type as fast as I can talk, so words tend to flow easier as I type.

Pen - I find my ideas flow so much better that way. As soon as I'm on the keyboard it feels like more of an assignment then a pleasant leisure pursuit.

Keyboard is easier to get thoughts out fast when you need them just to flow out of your head, but a pen is fun when you've got a fireplace and crickets chirping. Nostalgia is fun
