Will Christopher Baer is the author of the Phineas Poe series: Kiss me, Judas, Penny Dreadful and Hell's Half Acre are all a trilogy.
The basic summary of Kiss Me, Judas, the first book that starts off the sombre adventure of ex-cop Phineas Poe who has just been released from a mental institute and ends up in a bar. He meets a mysterious woman, who engages in sexual intercourse with him and soon after, our main charcter wakes up in a frozen bathtub missing his... liver? Who could've taken it? With nothing but a note saying: Call 911 if you want to live from the events of the night before, is a kickstart to an erotic, mysterious, darkly humorous book about a man trying to make sense of the chaos around him.

I've only read the first book of the series, but lemme tell you, it is worthwhile. I read it in one shot, you just can't put it down.
