I agree. It made a lot more sense after I read on and got toward the end. Even though it was a bit confusing at times I think it was need and a very important part of the story so I wouldn't want it to have been any different. My favorite part was Shiz too. I read the book first and then saw the play. I like the play, the music was good; and I understand alot has to be taken out and changed to fit into a two hour play, but I liked the darker story of the book a bit more. __________________ ~Stephanie~ Hayden Christensen's board is Celebrating 100K posts

She thoguth it was brilliant how the witch thing was a kinda joke - she was really an Animal rights activist. Ironic, isnt it?

| I read it over Christmas and I didn't care for it. With the exception of a few parts, it didn't engage me at all. I skipped through most of it and don't remember much about it as a result. I haven't seen the musical, but I do have the Wicked CD, which I love. I hope to see the musical eventually. __________________ ~ Kay ~ | |||

| Okay, I read the book about a year ago and actually liked it, but I tend to like darker things (perhaps that is why I like Chuck Palahuniuk). When I found out it was made into a musical, I was kind of startled thinking that this was not a book that should be a musical at all, but then again they did make Les Miserables into a musical, so what do I know? But then I saw the musical and I have since seen it twice. I frankly like both. They are completely different things and thus I think should be treated as such, otherwise, I probably wouldn't have cared for the musical as much. The musical is a lot lighter than the book and takes a lot out, but it still has some themes and whatnot that stay the same. I could appreciate them for their differences. Not my favorite book, but not a terrible book. I've read worse. It engaged me,didn't lose me, and didn't take itself too seriously (which is good, there are some books that are too serious). I liked it. __________________ "I'm okay with being unimpressive. I sleep better." When there's nothing let to burn you must set yourself on fire. | |||

| Master Fan ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I have heard about Lost. I'm not as excited to read that one. I finished Confessions. I was never a big fan of the Cinderella story but I really like this one. I think that's why I prefer it over Wicked. | |||

| I loved Conf. of an Ugly Stepsister but when I picked up Wicked I was disappointed. I only got half way through and then put it down. I just couldn't get into it. __________________ Procrastinate now don't put it off! | |||

| I absolutely adore Wicked. While reading I was fascinated by the detail of the story and Elphaba's inner journey. As a kid I only read The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, not the extra dozen Oz books, so a lot of the details were new to me. It's a fabulous idea to consider what it was like for the Wicked Witch of the West to know that Dorothy was coming to kill her - to see Dorothy as an assassin. Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant book. And the sequel is out this month from Harper, Son of a Witch, about Liir. My colleague is sending me a copy. __________________ "I may be love's bitch, but at least I'm man enough to admit it." | |||
