| I didn't realize it was so popular that it gets to go on tour. Maybe I'll check it out. | |||

| Oh, I saw Wicked on Broadway and it was AMAZING. Normally, theater isn't my thing, but I was just blown away. I haven't read the book yet, but I'm hoping to get my hands on it soon ![]() __________________ Michelle Wife #1/2 "I'll always feel something for him..." Trust Fund Babies avie by denrito | |||

Can you give a brief synopsis --maybe from the back of the book -- without giving anything away? __________________ Carol ![]() Icon by Faith in You Come visit the Christian thread | |||

| I finished reading this book a couple weeks ago. It's an interesting idea for a book, and I liked it, but didn't love it. The author has also wrote a book called 'Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister', a view from one of Cinderellas ugly stepsisters. __________________ Ben: I always felt that I kind of had this thing.. this musical thing inside of me. | I really didn't get this book. I seriously think I missed some really big, underlying theme related to the whole political/religious thing it had going on. So, I really didn't like it very much. The parts where they're at college were okay but otherwise I found it kind of boring. | |||

| I actually found that too, the first time I read it - I had to really concentrate in some parts, but it was worth it...you know I'd be all ok, I don't get this particular theme, it doesn't matter, so I'd read on and then be all awww, but I wanna understand it all! So I'd go back and read the part again. But a lot of it...it can only be pieced together truly after you've finished, like some parts don't make complete sense until you read on. My favourite section is definitely when they are at Shiz ![]() I just love how the book is so FULL...I mean there's a thousand other stories in there that aren't delved into, so much left unexplained, it would be the perfect text to study ![]() | |||

| unfortunately, i saw the musical before i read the book. I got three quarters of the way through the book VERY QUICKLY but i couldn't finish it. I know people who swear by the book, but I also know people like that who are mad that it was made into a musical, because it took a very cult underground novel and now everyone is reading it. I am sure i would have felt differently had i not seen the play, but I can't help it. I ma obsessed with teh play though. IT makes me feel guilty because im dead set on reading a book before seeing a movie, unless you don't know and you can't consider the movie to be your favorite if you haven't read the book (saying harry potter is your fave movie if you havent and refuse to read the book) but that's just the way it is. The stories are very different when it comes to the mood, and the cheerfulness and optimism of the play suited me more than the darkside of the book. | |||
