| When did you begin loving reading and books? Last week I asked my mum when I first began to read, since I don't remember a time when I haven't been reading, and she said that she taught me at a vey early age and that when she did the weekly shopping, she'd buy me a book to add to my collection. I began carrying a book with me at all times when I was seven, so I guess that's when I really fell in love with books and reading. What about you? __________________ Sarah Michael: Why me? I wanted a story and everyone was too busy to read to me, so I talked my sister into teaching me A B C D and E. She didn't have patience for more than that but that was enough, and I took it from there on my own. Have been able to read for myself ever since and have never been without a book. ![]() __________________ Not all who wander are lost. | |||

| I think I really started to "love" reading when I was about 8-9 yrs old. Before that I did read and I loved all my picture books ...but yea....it really started when I realised I read a lot more than my peers in primary school. | |||

| I think I was about two. My aunt gave me a bunch of Little Golden Books that my cousins had outgrown and I always wanted my parents to read to me. My most requested book was Old Mother Hubbard and I had it read to me so many times that I memorized it. I'd get the book out and "read" it by reciting it, but then I started to put the words in my head together with the words on paper, then I transfered that to other books. A whole new world opened up for me then and I read all the time. My mom got me Weekly Reader books and I'd finish them all the day I got them. ![]() I had a secondary falling in love with books when I was about 10. My dad let me borrow 2010 by Arthur C. Clarke and my fifth grade class had a mini library, which is where I discovered Fifteen by Beverly Cleary. | |||

| I learned to read at the age of 3 and ever since then, I've been addicted to reading. From the age of 4, I always had a book with me. __________________ Watch Veronica Mars, Tuesdays at 9pm on UPN. Veronica Mars, House, Gilmore Girls, and Bones fangirl | |||

| I don't really remember when I started to love books this much. It seems to me that it's been like this since forever, or at least since the first time my mom read stories to me. I remember though that I started to massively read around 8 when I borrowed that huge book about Greek mythology, and then it was it. I just couldn't stop. ![]() __________________ The difference between 'involvement' and 'commitment' is like an eggs-and-ham breakfast : the chicken was 'involved' - the pig was 'committed' | |||

| Probably around the fourth grade. I had some really great middle school English teachers that inspired me. I became totally book crazy around the middle of high school, but nowe that I've entered I read a little less. However if I have a good book I will read it non-stop until the end. ![]() | |||

| The first time i remember loving a book was when i was 3, it was called Lost in the Supermarket and i couldn't read it yet but i memorised all the words and managed to convince all my relatives i could read it! One of my best friends has kids now and it is so amazing to watch them falling in love with books. We have just finished reading them The Hobbit and now we are onto Clive Barker's Abarat. It so amazing - they are only 5 and 7 but they are really into it. __________________ tash Well, isn't it comforting to know that being miserable is still better than being an idiot? - Clare Fisher | |||

| It sounds really stupid, but my love for reading stemmed from my love of Archie comics. I think it was when I was.. I dunno, 7 or 8 when I started reading Archie, then it went on to Garfield... Nancy Drew books... Goosebumps.. ![]() - -Nellie __________________ there is no greater sorrow than to recall happiness in times of misery.. visit: evanescence / female fronted metal | |||

| I'd have to say that I really started reading romance novels back when I was a Senior in HS. Alot of my friends and I would pass around books to kill time in class That's when I really got hooked and had to read a new book all the time! So I guess it's been about 10 or 11 years now ![]() __________________ "Are you brave enough to say you love me?" | |||

| I don't quite remember cuz I've been reading for as long as I can remember, honestly. My mom used to read to us all the time; recite nursery rhymes and sing songs until she hated the stuff she'd buy Enid Blyton's three stories in a book kind of books. I don't know if you know what books they were. They had chapters. I know I used to read them like crazy and when I was on a bus recently I saw a girl about 7 years old and she was reading a similiar book. In fact I think I read it. I kept staring at the book but it brought back so much happy memories. I read at mealtimes to the point that I eat one-handed it's really bad, but now I can't imagine not reading while eating. ![]() __________________ she can stop traffic, she can do magic ; | |||

| I think i was about six years old when i began to read for myself. Before that my mum used to read to my sister and myself on a Friday night before bedtime when my dad was down the pub and she didn't have to fuss after him. I remember joining the library when i was seven years old and i visited at least once, sometimes twice a week. My sister and myself love to read and when we were in primary school we both had advanced reading ages at the time. As i got older and my tastes expanded, i found books to be my sanctuary, we went through some tough times in my formative years thanks to my dad, and we (sister and I) spent those times in our room lost in our books. You know when kids are really quiet and they're either asleep or up to mischief?, well if we were really quiet it usually meant we were reading. We're still like that today, my sister and i, and we give each other book tokens for Christmas or birthday gifts because we know they're the most perfect gifts for each other I do carry a book (sometimes two) around with me, i read in the bath. I have two children of my own and they both like books, but i think my three and a half year old daughter loves them almost to the degree that her mom and Aunt do so maybe it'll carry over into the next generation ![]() __________________ *Confirmed Tommyholic* ~*Write Your Soul Down Word For Word*~ *This is Smallville Clark, Land of the Strange, Home of the Weird" | |||
