Still Mansfield Park.

I know what you mean. It was a few years after highschool that I went back and re-read some Shakesphere and "To Kill A Mockingbird". We were so set on studying, analyzing and picking it apart that I couldn't enjoy them!
First time. I only read Pride and Prejudice, Sense and Sensibility and tried reading Emma before. Do you happen to like Austen?

It's always different when you do it in your own way and at your own pace. Class analyses can be fun though. But only with the right teacher (and classmates; I still vividly remember a high school classmate of of mine who would always passionately argue about books he hadn't even read, lol).

Is is one of my favourites!

I know what you mean too about how they are analyzed, and some argue just for the sake of arguing!

Enjoy reading!

The 1999 film "Mansfield Park" starring Frances O'Conner, Jonny Lee Miller, James Purefoy, is a great adaptation as well!

Awesome. I think my favorite Austen (so far) is Northanger Abbey. Mansfield Park is good and more complex and important, but NA is just so funny.

Thank you for the recommendation

You're very welcome!

Murder at Mansfield Park by Lynn Shepherd

Plot:

In this ingenious new twist on Mansfield Park, the famously meek Fanny Price--whom Jane Austen's own mother called "insipid"--has been utterly transformed; she is now a rich heiress who is spoiled, condescending, and generally hated throughout the county. Mary Crawford, on the other hand, is now as good as Fanny is bad, and suffers great indignities at the hands of her vindictive neighbor. It's only after Fanny is murdered on the grounds of Mansfield Park that Mary comes into her own, teaming-up with a thief-taker from London to solve the crime.
