I finished reading my first Library book from last week, "The Victorian Murderesses". It was an interesting read, true crime stories from the 1800's.
The only thing that was lagging was that the book was separated into six main chapters for each separate crime story. Which was good, but the author jumped right into the crime and what they did rather than starting with a small build up of the murderer, their life and circumstances. Instead it was completely backward so really you can only really see the crime and not the events that led to it. Although the stories were all intriguing for their time and the crimes committed, I would have preferred if the layout of the stories were different, especially since each was at least 50 to 75 pages each! I'm now starting a second library read, the sequel to "Pride & Prejudice and Zombies" by Seth Grahame-Smith, "Pride & Prejudice and Zombies: Dreadfully Ever After" by Steve Hockensmith. |
