I think The Night Circus would be a visual feast. But I rather it be a mini-series.

The Secret History would also make a good mini series.

I agree about the Night Circus (haven't read the Secret History yet). Although I didn't love the book, I loved the atmosphere and I think it would be absolutely enchanting and so stunning to watch!

Everything over 100 pages automatically gets a tv show/mini series.

The SFX budget would be huge.

For some books I do but also try not to get too excited about fan casting because when they cast someone else, I don't want to to be disappointed.

Also, but they time a show/movie is made that actor/actress is too old.

I felt like it depend on the books bec some book have too much details, so it better to be movies..

If you do fancast and then someone else gets the role, do you then picture the person actually cast or the person you wanted during a re-read?


Although with movies you get 2.5 hours at the most but a series can give you 6-8-10 hours so then the show has more time to show those details.

I feel the opposite. With more hours dedicated to a TV series all those details don't have to be omitted or condensed. Movies omit too much details.

The person I wanted is who I pictured when I read it.

Which book you reading now and do the character descriptions match actors?

Sometimes I ignore character descriptions and picture actors anyway.

For Shadow of Night I remember getting the descriptions of two characters (just introduced) confused. One was a blonde and the other a red head. And for the whole rest of the series I pictured Gallowglass as a red head, but he's a blonde.

So I too sometimes ignore the descriptions in the books.
