What book do you think should be turned into a film.

What is your favourite book that you think would be turned into a film. If you were the director of that film what actors/actresses would you use in it for what charactors in the book.

Um... Oh geez, I reckon that the Redwall series, Troy Game series, anything by V.C Andrews, and anything by Francesca Lia Block should be made into movies.

Especially Francesca Lia Block... She's amazing.

I would have unknowns acting her books out, and it would be sort of arthouse/film festival style movies.

Great question. I know most books are better than the movie, but I would love to see a movie version of two books: Summer Sisters by Judy Blume and The Time Traveler's Wife. For Summer Sisters, I can see Katie Holmes or Rachel Leigh Cook as Vix and Mena Suvari as Caitlin (role is similar to the one she had in American Beauty). For The Time Traveler's Wife, I'm not sure who I can see playing Clare, maybe a Kate Winslet or Nicole Kidman type. I can see a Johnny Depp type playing Henry.

I've always imagined the books in my favorite series--"Earth's Children" by Jean Auel--as being movies. However, the 1st book was made into a movie but I've heard that it wasn't that good. You know what'd be even better, is to make it into a tv show! I don't know who should be cast for the roles, but as long as they fit the main characters [Ayla & Jondalar] well, it doesn't matter.

I am hoping that my all time favorite book Green Rider gets made into a movie and I also would like to see my another all time favorite book The Wind Blows Backward made into one as well. Those two books absolutely are so wonderful and they have potential to be great films as well.

I think Weetzie Bat (sp?) got made into a movie.

I like the idea about the unknowns and the arthouse.

I love Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury.

I'd heard rumors that it would be a movie with Mel Gibson, but that was years ago. There is some old BBC or some version of the book, but it differs too much from the book for me to really enjoy it.

I've wondered how it would be like if Jacqueline Wilson's The Illustrated Mum was turned into a movie. It's a children book, but very emotional and powerful. Maybe it would even turn into a tearjerker. At least I feel that way.

I would also like to see Anita Shreve's Fortune's Rocks turned into a movie -Alexis Bledel to play the role of Olympia crossed my mind .

I'd like to see His Dark Materials by Phillip Pullman as a film. I thinks the story is great, interesting and it would be a great movie.

Although I've read something about filming it, but I don't know if thoose are rumors or not.

It's hard for me to choose. Most books I like have already been made into movies or are going to be made into movies. Plus the movie would probably ruin the book for me. I guess for now I'll go with "Can You Keep a Secret?" by Sophie Kinsella.

Diary of a Cat by Leigh W. Rutledge--it's funny and sad and all the things a good book and a good movie should be.
