We should compile a list of Vamp novels to have at the start of the thread.

Well, I don't believe it's been mentioned, which is kind of sad because it really is a good book, but usually overlooked as it's not one of the "classics".

Vamped by: David Sosnowski

It's a little unusual and not as exciting, action packed, or romantic as most vampire novels. But still, just as good on a completely different level.

I really love the Undead Series by MaryJanice Davidson. Also the Dark-hunters Series by Sherrilyn Kenyon. Then there's the Dark One's novels by Katie Macalister. I also love Lynn Viehl's novels. I actually just bought the latest one yesterday!

Anybody read any L.A. Banks books? I picked up the first one of her Vampire Hunter series today. Haven't started it though.

I haven't read anything by LA Banks to be honest

I did read all four books in the Black Dagger Brotherhood Series by J R Ward and loved them all. I can't wait for Lover Unbound to be released in September.

I don't think anyone has mentioned the Blood books by Tanya Huff. I started reading them after I caught the series Blood Ties on Lifetime. Same basic characters and setup with the usual amount of changes for anything adapted to another medium. I've read the first 4 (in 2 volumes) and enjoyed them.

The Undead and Unwed series by MaryJanice Davidson is totally awesome. It has a lot of humor to it as well.

In case anyone has not heard, there is a new book called Many Bloody Returns that contains 13 vampire short stories with birthday themes. Some of the authors included are: Charlaine Harris, Jim Butcher, Kelley Armstrong, Cassandra DuCharme, Tanya Huff, P. N. Elrod, Christopher Golden, and Toni L. P. Kelner.

A book that little know about but happens to be my favorite Vampire book since hight school is Companions of the Night by Vivian Van Velde. I read it once a year traditionally And even 10 years later I love it as much as the first time I read it.

Oh I'm so glad I found this thread! Turning into a big vampire fan! Read, as has been written in here before, Twilight but I've always been interested in vampires before I read it! I've heard Ann Rice's name before, but is vampire books all she writes?

I Loved Nora Robert's Circle Trilogy and L.J. Smith's Vampire Diaries/Nightworld Series. (I'm still waiting for her last book in the series...Strange Fate...which was supposed to come out like 10 years ago.) I'm currently in the middle of Kiss Me Forever by Rosemary Laurey. Its the first book in a 5 book series so far.

I also recommend Linda Lael Miller's vampire series. Forever and the Night and Into the night both have two novels in them each that all twine together.
