No, I totally understand that - the influence of society and culture is enormous. It's a genre that I don't really like, which I knew in advance, but I still wanted to give it a shot. I honestly found it a little boring, the story didn't pull me in. The writing style wasn't my taste either. It was like listening to little memories, jumping to little memories, and so on... without any real character growth. I can see why people like it, it's a cool concept, but not my cup of tea.

I admire that you decided to try a genre you knew you don't normally like. Because if I don't like a genre, I don't bother. And who knows, maybe i am missing out on a lot of good books because of that.
