I only seem to read romance in the spring and summer.

I don't know if it's seasonal. I tend to read a bunch of romance novels, and then I take a break and read other genres of fiction for awhile.

hello everyone! I'm new to this board and thread, just wanted to say hi!

I mostly read historical romance/fiction, but I will try anything.

My recommendations/favorites are:

Outlander (series) by Diana Gabaldon
The Bronze Horseman (series) by Paulina Simons
Heart of the West by Penelope Williamson
The Pride of Lions (series) by Marsha Canham
The Tea Rose by Jennifer Donnelly
The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger
Into the Wilderness (series) by Sara Donati
Whitney, My Love by Judith McNaught (most of hers are really good)
Some other authors I love are Lisa Kleypas, Kathleen E. Woodiwiss, Gaelen Foley

I kinda do the same, and latley I'm back into the romance genere. My raccomandations at the moment are "A summer to remember" and "More then a Mistress" by Mary Balogh

Thanks for the recommendations everyone. I'll have to check out those books.

I just ordered Books 3 and 4 from Christina Dodd's Darkness Chosen series from Amazon. I'm still waiting for them to arrive, but I liked the first 2 books of the series, so I hope that these won't disappoint either.

All of these recommendations are wonderful and a lot of them I agree with completely. The Bridgerton series from Julia Quinn was just so wonderful to read. I think I read the whole series in just over a week

Last night I finally got around to reading Jennifer Cruise's - Welcome to Temptation and everyone who raved about it... thank you! I've had the book for a while and hadn't gotten around to reading it, but your comments here prompted me to and I'm just so glad that I did. What a brilliant book. A lot of books in that genre tend to lack in some areas but I found this included everything I love in a book - romance, comedy, drama, suspense... hot sex

Keep up the great recommendations everyone

I definitely recommend you start with the Bridgerton series This is the first book and summary.

The Duke and I
Summary: Simon Basset, Duke of Hastings, has sworn never to marry. Daphne Bridgerton has sworn to marry only for love. They make a bargain and fake a courtship to keep the ton's matchmakers at bay--but what happens when the charade becomes all too real.

If you do read this series I'm sure you'll enjoy it. It's definitely one of my favourites

It sounds interesting. I'll be sure to keep my eye out for it. is she a newer author? I've only just found out about her.

Julia Quinn has been around for quite a while now, even though she's pretty young. I love her Bridgerton series, but I haven't liked anything else I've read by her nearly as much. I still buy all of her books brand new though.

I'm addicted to Jilly Cooper's novels at the moment, especially Rivals and The Man Who Made Husbands Jealous. They're a perfect combination of humour, romance and sex. The only thing is I've left my copy at work and I'm not back there for three days!!

^I'll have to keep an eye out for her work. Thanks for the rec... and that is so annoying when you leave your book somewhere

Another series that I really enjoyed was Chicago Stars by Susan Elizabeth Phillips. As with most series there were a few standouts but overall I liked all of them. The books (in order) are It Had To Be You, Heaven Texas, Nobody's Baby But Mine, Dream A Little Dream, This Heart Of Mine, Match Me If You Can, Natural Born Charmer (my favourite).

I know what you mean. Quinn has a new series out, Two Dukes of Wyndham series .I read the first one. It's good, but it's not even close to the Bridgerton series. I enjoyed the Brigertons so much more.

I love to read historical romance. I just love the stories about cowboys and the ones about a prince and princess.
