That's my guess ... I think I remember reading (it may have been in my own interview with her, LOL) that the sequel to All-American Girl would be a semi-sequel, not a "real" sequel like the Princess Diaries books, where it's the same character. It'll be like the "sequel" to Boy Next Door; different characters, same ... area? Whatever. I am no wordsmith.

Gabriela: Yes, March next year.

I'm guessing that you either you have a time machine or you acquired it in the UK?

Are you sure we're talking about the same book here ... Princess in Waiting (purple cover, volume IV, etc.) won't be released in paperback until March 23 next year.

That's what I asked before, and no one said, "Yes, Rachel, you're right, I mine is the UK one." That's why I included the purple-cover thing ... anyway.

Hey everyone. I'm new to this thread, but I love the Princess Diaries series. I've read the first three, and I'm waiting for Princess in Waiting to come out in paperback before I buy it, mostly because I have the first three in paperback, and I'm wierd about getting all of the books in a series in either all paperback or all hardback. Anyway, if the first three are any indication, I'm sure Vol. IV will be great.

Same here. I like all of my series to be in the same format. Plus, I don't like harbacks very well. Too expensive, and they're bulky.

Beth and Rachel - Wow, I don't have the patience like you guys do! The first 3 books I have are paperback, the 4th hardcover and the last one paperback. I agree that it's expensive and bulky, but sometimes a hardcover book makes me happy! (No idea why! I guess I'm just weird.)

If the hardcover is really nice and a book that I like a lot, I may buy it in hardcover (example: The Goose Girl by Shannon Hale). The binding, dustjacket, and even the pages are beautiful and made of nice thick paper -- which you wouldn't be able to find in a paperback. But, those are very rare exceptions.

The library around here always gets the PD books right away -- so it's not for any amount of patience that I can wait until paperback to buy them.
