I've read the first two Alanna books so far (and absolutely love them!), and I have the other two, plus I have The Immortals and The Circle of Magic, so I'll be reading all of those soon.

Arent they amazing though you kinda have to read the alanna series to get everything started off first. i mean it sorta gives you a run through for the other books of how some people came to be i'm not saying u'll not understand the books of the newer series but it'll give away the beginning series...i have the immortals and the lioness quartet i haven't the circle which i think are okay i've only read like one or two the circle opens is way better!!!

I've read Trickster's Choice and loved it. At first it was a bit slow but by the middle I was zooming through that book. Nawat Crow was so sweet; I loved how they encounter the healer and she recognizes him (even though he's a man) and goes: "Stay away from my drying lines." He was adorable.

Tamora Pierce

I love this author. I am currently reading her Protector of the Small Quartet. She's amazing and I thought she deserved her own thread so we can discuss her.

I saw a series at Barnes and Noble by her that I really want to read, but I don't remember the titles. It was about a girl, or a couple who are training to be knights. Do you know which ones those are?

I'm pretty sure I read something else by Ms. Pierce, but I just can't think of it. Ah well. Maybe later it will come to me.

Tamora Pierce was supposed to be at a convention over the weekend which is held near my home, but I think she must have cancelled. I didn't see her name on the con's web site and I didn't see the appearance listed anymore on her web site either. I decided not to attend since she was the only author who was supposed to be there that I had ever read. I'd love to meet her sometime though.

I still haven't gotten to read any more of her books, but I will try to at least finish the Alanna books before the end of the year.

The one I'm reading right now, the series The Protector of the Small, is about a girl named Keladry, training to become a knight. There's also a series about a girl named, Alanna, (sorry can't think of the name just yet) about another girl who trains to become a knight. I'll try to post more info later.

Her first quarret was called the Lioness' Rampant and it was set in the Realm of Tortall and centered around a girl named Alanna, who masquerades as a boy for 8 years to become a knight and her adventures. There was another quaret that Ms. Pierce wrote titled the Immortals quarret which centered around a girl named Daine and her gift of Wild Magic and her journey, followed by the Circle of Magic Quarret that does not take place in Tortall and introduces a whole new cast of characters where each book focuses around a different teen, Sandry, Briar, Daja, and Tris. Then those were followed by The Protector of the Small quarret about Keldary, which takes place several years after the end of Lioness' Rampant and The Immortals in Tortall as well as the sequel to Circle of Magic, The Circle Opens quarret, and then just recently she is currently writting a series that revolves around Alanna's youngest daughter, Ali. The first two books in that series are the Trickester's Choice and the Trickester's Queen. Hope that helps everyone here. There is also a Tamora Pierce appreciation/discussion thread over at the Science Fiction/Fantasy board under General Discussion.

Later all
